Ms. Winehouse's talent just takes your breath away. Her appeal crossed all kinds of boundaries. I am living proof of that, since I am a 65 year old who might not be expected to be in her fan base. But, I am in awe of great talent, and she had such a great talent. Her death at such a young age is a tragedy and a major loss for anyone who loves good music. It is difficult not to feel anger at those who encouraged and enabled her self-destruction. But, instead of being angry, I will just sit back and listen to the wonderful musical legacy she left us. I believe that is what she would want us all to do.

Every now and then a voice comes along that makes your heart beat faster and you have to sit up and listen, and then you marvel. And you know that the remarkable feeling she instils in you is just going to be with you until you die. This is the magical power that Amy had over us, we that loved her and that sweet husky ethereal special voice. I will never cease to wonder at how she used to make me feel, how she touched me deeply, and how I lost something in my life when she passed away. No one in this world should judge another . Every human being has its frailties and reasons for doing what they do . But drugs are never the answer in life . They gain control so swiftly and having done so takes away your ability to make good decisions. It saddens me deeply to see the destruction they cause to lovely people . This world is a shit one in most parts . And many humans act in many unhuman ways . but we all have an inner strenght if only we search for it .i urge anyone to try another route than resorting to the devil that awaits to take your life if you give it a chance ... life is too precious to throw it away . there is beauty in the world to be treasured
@Jus-v3z6 ай бұрын
well said. Something drives people to seek some type of help confronting their problems even if it seems like an escape. And some drugs are so potent, combined without a strong support system - and you have a blow that not too many people can get up from. Dont knock other people until youve walked in their shoes. But its also the reason I have never and will never try any drug - nomatter how many curve balls life throws - and there has been many already.

In my own humble opinion I think she was on par with the great Billie Holliday.

Here it is, 2024. While pictures and videos of her are the on the screen, you hear her incredibly soulful voice. It's so sad and hauntingly beautiful.

Thank you so much for posting her fabulous video. Her voice is perfect, especially those high notes. She gives me chills. I miss her dearly but know she is at peace in heaven. We were lucky to have her. A shooting star. And so funny. God graced us with her. She gave it all.

She had such an unforgettable voice and I miss her so much. She had so much to live for but got lost in the journey. She now sings with the angels.

I saw an early video of Amy saying she did not want to get caught up in singing tormented love songs. She was healthy and wholesome in that video and seemed 'wild and free'. As a singer myself, I went down that tormented love-song path for years. Finally, after a lot of heartbreak and misery over decades, I called out to Jesus. He answered me. I began to fall head over heels in love with Bubba (my nickname for Christ). I started singing secular love-songs dedicated to Jesus. Songs like 'My Girl' became 'My God' and ANY song that can be reworded to show life to God. This song she sings here could be re-worded in a positive way to God. Jesus has saved my life many times and healed me of many addictions and issues. I only wish Amy could have gotten to the place where she could have had the peace I now have. Romance can be so darn addictive. What an amazing soulful voice she had.😊

She was a once in a generation talent from her voice to her writing ability. She opened herself to the whole world. She didnt write music. She wrote poetry that was good enough to be music. The pipes she had on her for being so small were breathtaking. Very sorely missed.

It's in my nature to watch any video that's labeling itself "Best" anything with a critical eye and a dubious attitude. I can't help it, I'm cynical when it comes to claims of grandeur, but this was actually the 'best video ever' of Amy Winehouse. It captured her essence perfectly, her smile, her sass, her gift. I can't hit the "like" button hard enough.

I love this slow-paced Winehouse version of Carol King's classic. That hand drum coming in on the down after about 16 bars gives the song a real exotic feel.
