Thanks for commenting! I'll consider making a lesson since so many of you seem to be interested. In the meantime, I'd strongly recommend this video by Paul Davids- he breaks down the Valerie main lick at the 3:00 mark in his video, 10 Extremely Tasty Licks (you should know) | Easy to Hard kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHLTZJRpZZWNb5I&ab_channel=PaulDavids

Does anybody know what is the thing over the 1st fret and why is it there for?
@JohnSKihm3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! That’s a fret wrap. It helps mute any strings that you’re not trying to hit. While it’s ideal to do most of the muting with your left and right hands, it’s really helpful having an extra tool to stop any unwanted string noise. This results in a cleaner and clearer tone. Hope this helps!

Well sometimes I go out by myself And I look across the water And I think of all the things, what you're doing And in my head I paint a picture Cos since I've come on home, Well my body's been a mess And I've missed your ginger hair And the way you like to dress Won't you come on over Stop making a fool out of me Why don't you come on over Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Did you have to go to jail, Put your house up on for sale, did you get a good lawyer? I hope you didn't catch a tan, I hope you'll find the right man who'll fix it for ya And are you shoppin' anywhere, Changed the color of you hair, are you busy? And did you have to pay the fine You were dodging all the time, are you still dizzy? Cos, Since I've come on home, Well my body's been a mess And I've missed your ginger hair And the way you like to dress Won't you come on over Stop making a fool out of me Why don't you come on over Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Well sometimes I go out by myself And I look across the water And I think of all the things, what you're doing And in my head I paint a picture Cos, since I've come on home, Well my body's been a mess And I've missed your ginger hair And the way you like to dress Won't you come on over Stop making a fool out of me Why don't you come on over Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Oh Valerie? Valerie? Valerie? Why don't you come on over Valerie?

Any tabs for the begining?
@JohnSKihm4 жыл бұрын
Andrew hey there! Paul David’s actually has a great video that covers a more exact interpretation of the opening lick..I think the video’s called “10 tasty licks, easy to hard.” As for tabs, I used to use songsterr.com - but I now learn songs by ear, which I recommend if possible. Hope this helps!

Please take that sock off the neck. Makes me cringe that people are using these mute straps instead of learning proper technique.
