Being a lifelong musician, I thirst for bands like this. I grew up living and sleeping in the high school music room. My home was toxic and unsafe, so the music teacher (my mentor and same birthday as me) gave me a key to the room. I would spend my nights in there listening to mostly punk and jazz and emulating what I heard on the drum kit. I would then sleep in one of the practice rooms, zip home to make some toast or something in the morning and then back to school. Music saved my life. Left home at 18 and never went back. This band is what I’ve always loved about punk. No BS. No airbrushing of faces or music. Just music. Raw and brutally honest. I’m an old man now and still love this. She is a legend.

Do you remember, back in the 90s, walking into a grotty pub with sticky carpets, grumpy locals, geriatric regulars who sat at the bar gripping their pints, and a grumpy landlord who hated everyone who crossed his threshold? In a corner there was a crappy little stage with three coloured lights and a glitterball? Then the band came on mumbled something something, apologising for the shitty sound... But as soon as they clanged the first chord of the first song it was the most life-changing, incredible noise you ever heard in your life? You're right up there with them, and they're talking straight at you, every word of every song hits you like truth your soul has been trying to tell you since you let go of your mother's hand and took your first steps? You jumped up and down like a lunatic, but at the same time you listened to each and every word like it was the word of god coming through a knackered Peavey amp at a volume which was about to start smoking like a 14 year old with a grudge against society (and their mum's new boyfriend). You don't see that kind of gig very much any more, but this video was the closest I've come to experiencing that transitory moment for years. Now go support your local bands, and fuck the record industry!

This is funny considering the origin of punk was about accessibility as in just playing the instrument without the formal education, sometimes any education, on it. Basically it was middle/lower middle class whites upset at their socioeconomic status compared to other non white minorities that picked up instruments they didn't know how to play expressing themselves...i agree it does sound better when folks know how to play their instruments

It’s cool to see a band just being a band. This reminds me of stuff like Joy Division, Black Flag; Pixies; etc.; bands that don’t really have a genre, sound like they all started learning their instruments at the same time, played together long enough to figure out how to write songs and developed their own style through bizarre musical symbiosis.
