Duvet=the case which encloses the down comforter. Quilt=is usually handmade-looking which has decorative stitching and many pieces of fabric sewn together. Comforter= is a fiber-filled blanket.

Yes in US the thick blanket is called a comforter. Usually they come in a set. You get pillow cases, sheets, and a comforter

Also I want to give you some advice that I wish I had when I was a bit younger. I'm 29. Not a whole lot older but enough to learn some things. Don't spend your life thinking "what's next" instead of really enjoying and living your life in the moment. When you are a kid people ask you what you want to be when you grow up. From then on you are chasing the dream. Next thing you know, a third of your life has been spent thinking about the what's next instead of the right now and gives you a pang in your heart. I'm sure you already know that but sometimes it's important to actually put things out there in case you never have heard it.

I call that blanket a comforter. A quilt is only something with quilting on it and a duvet is almost the same as a comforter but is able to be separated as the cover and the blanket underneath, we usually call it a duvet cover.

Here in Canada we call it a blanket. Also we do use the term quilt as well. The difference is the material. Happy you got a P.O box! I will be sending you a package this weekend!

Here in the US, we have duvets. We use them over goose down blankets. A "comforter" is a heavy blanket with a synthetic fill. A quilt is usually two layers of fabric with a thin, synthetic, batting between. Most Americans use the three terms interchangeably, but they are different.

KT tape can help hold it. The laundry machines in house are not always large enough for blankets, comforters, duvet, quilt. It depends on what type of cover it is. Yours I would probably call a comforter or duvet.

I recently stumbled on your channel Amy and I absolutely love watching you share your struggles and life in general with the world. You are an absolutely beautiful and inspirational person. In my life I have learned time and time again that more often the family that you pick yourself can often be some of the most important and influential people in your life. My dad is actually my step dad, my biological father basically abandoned me several times through my life and has never been around. The man I call my dad picked up the slack and has never treated me differently than his own kids. Rejoice for the beautiful lives that they lived and the time that you were gifted with them. Hold your head high and keep being the beautiful person that you are!

Start the tape around your wrist to anchor, then hook around the base of your thumb. Look up XIIYY thumb splint on amazon and try to copy it with the tape. Worked for me while I waited for my silver ring and thumb splints! Also love wrist widgets to hold the snappy tendons and jiggly wrist bones in place - helps block hyperextension as well

I know this is a super old vlog lol, but we call that blanket a comforter in the U.S. and a duvet is a cover that you can put over the comforter (or rather like an “envelope” you put the comforter in). A quilt here is a blanket with a bunch of pieces of fabric all patched together. ;)

Amy, thank you for sharing your grief. Makes me feel less alone. I’m 22, my mom was 55 and she passed away a month ago from brain cancer. It was sudden and I had to take care of her. She had a seizure Christmas Day and died two months later. So far all I’ve got in terms of being afraid you aren’t fulfilled: I can take comfort that my mom really only wanted to be a mom. She LIVED to be a parent and as a single mom she did amazing. She saw me grow up. Yes she missed grand kids, and weddings, and stuff like that but she lived according to how she wanted to. I think we can take a lesson from that. Live now so that you are satisfied. As much as you can. We can’t wait. We don’t know what will happen.

Then my in laws passed away 8 months apart and they were older 83 and 72 but yes the broken heart thing is very real. I watched a thing on it on like discovery channel that said there is a part of the muscle in the heart that literally breaks during extreme grief. Common amongst couples who've spent many years together.

For the thumb issue use KT tape and place a strip on the out side of your thumb (the side away from your fingers) from the first knuckle to about two fingers past your hand, then also wrap another strip round your thumb in between the knuckles. Then another strip from your palm just where your thumb is round your hand and wrist that should support it. You can leave out the last bit but that’s what I do and that helps with my wrist staying in place to. If you need me too I will dm you a picture on insta in the morning of what it should look like (it’s 23:05 here)

I'm so beyond sorry for your loss. My aunt (dad's sister) passed away in December from cancer. It hit my family extremely hard. My prayers are with you and your family. Also I think that us with chronic illness' tend to think of death more, as it is a real possibility with some of our conditions. I know before i was diagnosed with Lyme disease, I honestly was planning what songs I wanted played at my funeral because I truly believed I was going to die. No one could tell me what was wrong with me and I got sicker and sicker. Its a pretty scary thought. I think it's important to realize that life is short, and we must do our best to live life to the fullest possible given our circumstances. And congrats on the PO box!! So exciting. :)

I’m so sorry for your loss😢. Love and comforting vibes coming your way sweetie. I lost my Grandpa just about 2 years ago and he was my last grandparent that I had living.😢 it’s so hard. My first grandma that passed did so when I was only 14 and it just completely gutted me, she was only 63😭. She was sick for many years and looking back I am absolutely convinced she had EDS but of course nobody knows what that is now so of course it’s not hard to imagine that she was misdiagnosed back then. I wish so much I could talk to her about it all. I wish I could ask her how she coped so gracefully and beautifully while being so ill. She never whined or went on about how awful it was. I wish I could be more like her. She also was the most faithful woman I knew, she taught me what a relationship with Christ was and as far as I know she never faltered in her faith. I have not lost my faith but I struggle with feelings of bitterness and anger especially since my son got ill with what is probably EDS and POTS. Anyway sorry I wrote a book😳🙄. Hugs and love to you sweetie ❤️.

We Americans call that a comforter or some people call it a bed spread. Laundramats are also a thing here, but you really only use them for a few reasons: You don't have a washer and/or dryer at home, either because it's broken, you don't want to or because you don't have room, you need to wash something that is too big for your machines to handle, or you are on a trip, can only pack so many clothes and aren't staying with someone who's machines you can use. I'm 30 and I've never been to one.

Babe very sorry for your families loss. It can be very difficult. It is romantic that he went with her, but very difficult. So I am truly sorry for the loss. I'm in love with the shirt/blouse. That color really looks good on you. For your thumb and fingers I just purchased a complete set from Etsy shop lovethebugs he does a beautiful job. I believe he sells on Amazon as well. It's so cute you mentioned the comforter , that is American term. But it usually refers to cotton or down filled blanket. Duvet, bedspreads, coverlets there are so many definitions. Lol. I prefer quilts usually because my great grandma used to make them by hand and I have memories climbing into bed with her or my Nana and being buried in quilts in the winter time. Anyway I'm looking forward to sending you a little something. Not sure what I'll get yet. Wishing you a great week. Much love

My grandfather died not even a year after my grandmother died, he died of a broken heart essentially. He just gave up after she passed away, they had been together since they were children so she was all he had ever known. They raised me just as much, if not more, than my actual parents did and it’s hard. It’s been 2 years and it still hurts but at the same time I am so happy for them. They don’t have to see what is going on in the world today, they no longer have to worry about anything. They are together again for eternity. It hurts but that is what has to keep you going, knowing that they are completely free from worry and pain. I’m so sorry that you have to go through this though Amy ❤️😔

A comforter here in aus is generally just a patterned doona that doesn’t need a cover 😂 brilliant if you hate putting covers on. Oh and I obviously call it a doona.. 🤘
