A lot of parents were not happy with this, and some tried to get him removed from his position. He stayed, but it opened his eyes to how some people are. My mom didn't like it due to the BS stories that were in the news and radio. She did come around, but it still sucked back when the panic was going on.

My DM told us to make a perception check. I heard a vicious snarl from the shadows (Shadows - Darkness). I attacked it with magic missile.. I felt like the greatest dnd player ever.

Not to be 'that guy', but doesn't magic Missile require visual sight line, in the targeting? "You cast at one or more creatures *that you can see*" so, only if you had Darkvision to have dim vlight level of perception (at disadvantage) in the Darkness would you have been able to target and cast Magic Missile. At least in 5th edition. Also, I'm old enough to remember this skit before it was animated. Love it, I'm not busting your chops, just having fun with it.

I have never played dnd but it has been confirmed you cannot cast magic missile at the darkness. Results on if you can cast darkness at magic missiles is dubious however.
