Beautiful image and great story. I look forward to visiting this spot soon. I love how your 4x5 is your “small” camera. Lol. Keep doing what you’re doing. These stories keep inspiring me! 📷🎞️👏👏👏

On large format, I want to see straight vertical lines.

Yes! For architecture and landscapes straight vertical lines are wonderful. But I care more about faces and a connection first, so I’m less precious about lines.

Hey Marcus, I've been enjoying your photographs since I first came across you on Instagram. I think that 'Between The Bellows' is a great concept and excellently made. Thank you. Julian.

Marcus, just got an email that you 'hearted' my comment from episode #4. Honestly I couldn't remember what 'Between the Bellows' was so I came to look, saw it was you, and caught up with 6 and 7. Great work man. I watched #4 again to remind myself how big the Jobo was, ha, I keep thinking about getting the 5x7 version but they're a bit cost prohibitive. Anyway, saw the Linhof sitting on the counter in the background during that episode. So it was a treat to see it in use here with Gordon. Enjoyed watching you come up with the splash of light and the final arrangement. Both Isaac and Gordon shots looks great, simple, clean, straightforward compositions. Less is more. Trying to work up the courage to start doing portraits myself. Getting there. As a tech aside, I missed buying two of those Xenotars last year, seeing your shot of Gordon makes me cringe again at those poor choices. The next one won't slip by. Again fantastic work, inspiring. I halfway expected to see a close-up of Isaac's hands. wow. Interesting stuff. Cheers man, d

Dope photo as always man, I assumed it was 8x10 when I first saw it. Funnily I have the exact same 4x5 setup, no excuses now I suppose haha.

Time to dust it off! It was an adjustment working with the smaller ground glass though. Felt more claustrophobic under there

Did you find dropping down to 4x5 you were still able to get the look you are after compared to 810? As someone shooting 810 i was just wondering if you felt this was a compromise in anyway?
@BetweenTheBellows Жыл бұрын
I did miss the 8x10. Yes it’s bigger but seeing a ground glass that’s the size of a print is much easier to work with (and it’s awesome)
