The Switch 2 will probably be revealed on January 8th 2025. Rumours say the console will have a 9 in the launch title and that could be Mario Kart 9. It could launch with 32 tracks and no crossover characters and get DLC packs, adding crossover characters and double up the tracks to 48. It’s weird that the Blue Falcon is in the series but Captain Falcon isn’t. So why don’t they come in form of the DLC? I want them to ditch the metal characters, Cat Peach, Tanooki Mario, Peachette, the Blooper Item and Coin Item, make the Koopalings alts for Bowser Jr., the baby characters alt’s for each other, Dry Bowser an alt for Bowser, bring the Fake Item Box, Mega Mushroom, Pow Block, Super Leaf and the Ice Flower back, add commentary as the Arcade GP series has it, bring Mission Mode back as it was supposed to return in Wii and add Professor E. Gadd since he was going to be in DS, and by October, we could get Super Mario Journey. By March 2026, we could get a new 3D Kirby game, possibly a sequel to Forgotten Land. We could get to see playable Elfilin and Clawroline for the first time and they could bring back the Dream Palace Allies as well. Halfway through 2026, we could get Splatoon 4 and Pikmin 5, considering a 3 year gap between Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Pikmin 4, by September, we could get a new Zelda game, considering a 2 year gap between Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening remake and Skyward Sword HD, and by the end of the year, we could get Super Smash Bros. Legends and hopefully they’ll ditch World of Light, bring Subspace Emissary back and update the movesets of some characters. We could get Super Mario Maker 3, Luigi’s Mansion 4, Super Mario Galaxy 3 and a successor to Super Mario Party Jamboree by 2027 as it’s been 5 years since we had Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi’s Mansion 3. They could add a Mario Wonder game style to Super Mario Maker 3 so 3D World isn’t just the extra game style and they could bring the Amiibo costumes and the Weird Mushroom back, for Luigi’s Mansion 4, the game could be in an Airbnb and we might get to see Luigi save Daisy for the first time in the series and for the successor to Jamboree, everyone from the previous Mario Party entries could return like how everyone returned for Smash Ultimate. By 2028, we could get a successor to Paper Mario: The Origami King, considering a 4 year gap between that game and the TTYD remake. I hope the console sells well and has 4K and 60 FPS. I probably won’t get it day one, or maybe not at all. I might wait for Smash Legends to be announced and then get the console with Mario Kart and get other games later on.

Ice Climber Switch doesn't need leakers because Nintendo has practically been leaking it themselves in SSBU, NWCNESE and the NES NSO phone wallpaper. Two Condors on Nintendo's official illustration for the Smash Ultimate Spirit Board Event "Kings and Queens of the Sky," the Ice Climbers near Kirby characters hinting at HAL Laboratory and/or Masahiro Sakurai working on it (plus both Ice Climber and Kirby's Adventure being near Kid Icarus on Nintendo's NES NSO phone wallpaper). I'm hoping it will shadowdrop January 30th.

While ARMS and MK are under the same division, similar to Splatoon and Animal Crossing, the overlap is not large (mostly artists and some programmers). Since EPD is not a traditional "studio" per se, you will see similar names on various titles.

I don’t really buy the leak, just because they’re just a random source with no confirmed track record. That said, I’m not super suspicious of Custom Robo from the Mario Kart team if it’s like, a B Team sequel. Smaller scope, smaller scale, smaller development staff and all that.

It's not going to be as powerful as a PS4 Pro, let alone Series S (which has a much better CPU but less GPU power), but it should be ok for most current gen ports. They'll be severely cut back like Switch 1 ports were, and they'll likely all target 30 fps (unless they're indie games), but that's still better than what we have now. DLSS won't push games to 4k like people want, not unless it's upscaling from an internal 540p resolution or something. But at that point, image quality would look so bad, so what's the point?

There's only one game I currently want, whether it comes out on Switch 2 or PS5 I could care less, and it's rumored to be in development, but whether or not it actually comes to fruition, who knows. I want an FF9 remake. I borrowed my uncle's PlayStation when I was 18 and played both 8 & 9 (my local blockbuster didn't have 7) and then a year later I got a ps2, and played 10. I went back and tried to play 7, but after playing 10, 7's graphics were too horrible for me to finish it. But while I haven't played every Final Fantasy that exists, out of the many I have played, 9 remains my favorite to this day, so it getting a remake to improve graphics and make quality of life changes, but hopefully not change it as much as everyone is saying they have with 7, it would thrill me beyond measure.

Mario Kart 8 is FAR from perfect. I don’t understand how MK games always get a pass when they are SO lazy. DK Racing did it better YEARS ago and Mario Kart hasn’t learned from it. A full adventure mode. 3 vehicles. BOSS RACES. Coin challenges. Hidden keys. A bunch of different multiplayer games.

This just confirms what Nvidia employees told Moore'sLawIsDead in that Switch 2 hardware has ready & finalized back in mid 2022. Developers having dev kits for 2 years lines up with that. Then again, everything else they leaked about Switch 2 specs & capabilities has been proven true, so there was never really in doubt. On another note, it kinda pisses me off that Nintendo refuses to use analog triggers despite having made them standard with the GC & while the rest of the industry has been using them for over a decade... They'll throw in gimmicky things like NFC to scan Amiibo & a rarely used IR camera (while charging $70 -$80 for a Pro controller), yet still use cheap, digital shoulder buttons... 😡

I am a huge Mario Kart fan, and I hate the 2 character driving in Double Dash. If they do bring it back, please let it be its own mode! Also, with how whacky the city tracks are in the BCP, we could see laps be different from one another. I would have the final lap be different from the first two, and call the final lap the Wonder Lap. Obviously, not a gimmick that should be used for every race, but it's an idea they can lean on with Mario Wonder.

I just hope for 1440p @ 60fps docked. That is literally all I want out of the Switch 2. No matter the hardware, Nintendo fans are going to complain because nothing is good enough for them. Remember the XBOX 1 vs PS4 TerraFlops debate. Same issue. Gamers arguing over hardware specs when it is all about the games. Who cares! Just play the games and have fun. Time will tell.
