"A doctor? Does he make people better?" was surprisingly impactful as a line I think

Luke guessed right about the paint they used for the Daleks - and other props, including the TARDIS console - because certain colours worked better with the black and white cameras than others.

Glad you reacted to this. A charming and touching homage to William Hartnell and Doctor Who as a series.

So fun fact, Verity Lambert went on to produce the wonderful 'Jonathan Creek' for the BBC back in the 90's. Not only was it also a roaring success, but many of the actors featured in the episodes had also been in Doctor Who!

‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ (I always want to saw time and space too) is Gatiss’s best script imo! 10/10!

1:37 - I like to refer to it as a Docudrama! Personally I think An Adventure in Space and Time is the best thing to come out of Doctor Who in it's 60 year history, it is just INCREDIBLE! I've always been fascinated by the Behind the Scenes of movies and TV shows and particularly Doctor Who, it is really interesting! And this I think is really special with a real emotional core that never fails to choke me up.

Most of the cast in this has appeared in the actual series and some of the original 1960's cast (William Russell, Carole Ann Ford, Jean Marsh and Anneke Wills) appear as cameos too.

One of my favorite pieces of Doctor Who trivia is that this most iconic of British television shows was the idea of a Canadian. Verity formed the idea into the show, but the idea itself was Sydney’s.

You would love the old 1960s film versions of Doctor Who starring Peter Cushing as Doctor Who. There were 2 made, based on stories from William Hartnell's (1st Doctor) era. They aren't considered Canon though as the character of the Doctor was changed from being an alien, to just an eccentric earth scientist. They were made for the American film market, and they thought it would be easier for them to understand it with the changes made. They are still fun films to watch though. Both films are in colour, and they look brilliant. Both films have had recent 4K restoration done.

@@obiwankenobi687 😎👍 Thanks. I didn' t realize. I've since read he voiced the _Elder Ood_ in *_"The End of Time."_* And thanks to looking that up, I also discovered he was nominated for an Emmy for a guest spot on *_Frasier._* I have to see that (those?) episode(s). While I've enjoyed virtually every episode of *_Frasier_* I've ever seen, I don't think I've watched the entire show start to finish. I'd like to think I would have remembered seeing *Brian Cox.*

How can you not like the Daleks their the most iconic part of the show lol. A lot of NuWho fans seem to forget if it weren't for the success of the Daleks Doctor Who would had died back in 1963 and if you had no Classic Who you would have no NuWho. One thing not accurate to this in real life it was Innes Lloyd who informed William Hartnell to leave the series not Sydney Newman.
@rayharley5972 жыл бұрын
I don't deny that without the Daleks Doctor Who would not have survived; doesn't mean I have to like them; even by the time of the hiatus they were, for me, a sign that they had run out of ideas. I was a few months out when Doctor Who first aired and the only Dalek story that I ever liked was Genesis of the Daleks; since then I've seen a couple of earlier ones that I liked, but I still feel a sense of resignation when they turn up. I just don't like them. kerk
