Wether we like it or not, this is our origin. This is who we are. Some of us are westernized but our connection Leeds back to this roots. Some of us laugh at them but was not for slavery , we all as blacks would still be there. Some of us denying who are as a ppl and wanted to distant ourselves from them , all because we were brainwashed into thinking we are superior to them.

Do they have something to keep the colonizers out of Africa ?
@daniaalfred1868
@daniaalfred1868 6 жыл бұрын
Most of these practices in their genuine forms were not designed to harm another fellow man.. There were designed to help the people with stuff like farming, storms, natural disasters e.t.c. But ultimately, regardless of the help they offer, Man still has to do most of the work for the gods will not do for man what man must do for himself. If we want the colonizers out, WE HAVE TO DO IT OURSELVES. Nevertheless, magic or not, most of these traditional practitioners work on uncharted areas.. Hard to find the genuine ones.. So I PERSONALLY DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE gods. My own traditional belief states that they were not gods but man's HELPERS that assist with natural life.

Note that there were/are two Sangos. One was an Irunmole, who descended from the "heaven" and was not born of a woman. In this irunmole lie the original energy of Sango (thunder/lightening). While the other "Sango" lived on earth as human as a king in Oyo. He understood the use of the energy of the original Irunmole Sango, and that's why he was also referred to as "Sango".

Amuojo would sound like A-Mojo to a non Yoruba english speaker. But a Yoruba person would know that Amuojo is a contraction for the Yoruba phrase: A-MU-OJO. The phrase literally translates to mean “the capture of the rain”. “The thing used to handle the rain” is what Amuojo translates to. The name explains itself to a Yoruba speaker who would not mistake it for being the same as the popular word “mojo”. Maybe it is possible that the word “mojo” was brought about into english, by someone who long ago mistook Amuojo for Mojo and a general description for magical power. “Mu” means to take, capture or handle. “Ojo” in a specific tonal pronunciation, means rain. Mu-ojo easily means to capture or handle the rain.

Thanks for this video. As a Yoruba who grew up in Nigeria until adulthood its fascinating thats its an AA who showed something I used to hear and wonder about. The rain-stopper/ rain-maker. The story is that if you want to have an outdoor party you must go and see the rain-maker so that the rain will not mess up your party. Sometime they deliberately make the rain fall so that you will be forced to go see them.

If you're in cotonou you be seeing things like this every time, it wants to rain so hard then all of a sudden it's stopped now I'm wondering if this is why, the same ifa spirituality and voduism is widespread here, and I remember my Nigerian friend saying the beninoise keep stopping their rains. Now I know why you quickly identified with yoruba culture, but I tell you there is similar things like this, in the Igbo Mainstream Spiritual way of Odinani.
