An afternoon at Van Dyne with wig wags,WC freights,and Milwaukee Road 261

Opening clip is at North Fond Du Lac,then off to Van Dyne.The Milwaukee 261 was a surprise,was tipped by a chaser right before her arrival.Battery died at the last minute,plus people that just pop out of nowhere.Filmed in fall,1993

At this time, the recently acquired SF SD45'S were just showing up during this visit. They csn be found roaming the system still in pristine blue & yellow mixed with WC'S maroon & gold, EX-BN green, & recent new visitor to dairy land CSX future 1990.

The locale known as Van Dyne comes to mind - it's on the former original Soo Line now Canadian National between Fond du Lac and Oshkosh in Wisconsin. Northward freights on CN can either head north to Green Bay and Marshfield or south toward Chicago.

sure miss the BN Leslie SK3 Horns on the WC, or BNSF, or Nathen P3 horns on either the BN or BNSF or WC boy trains were long in 1993 wow, I was just 13 years old, and boy do I miss the EMD SD45 and GP40's the WC had, these videos bring back great memories, thanks for posting them

@HighIronofWisconsin Correct.I also wanted to get a shot of that one better,but that did not happen that day.The low battery indicator started flashing just as 261 came into sight.Almost lost that one.
