I’m still working to build my C400 the way I want it. Right now I have it jury rigged with parts I had laying around. Currently on it: Mid49 monitor cover Tilta base plate with arca plate Small rig c70 bottom cheese plate Shape v mount plate sitting on the rails Anton Bauer 9” dtap to 4 pin power cable Atoms ninja v+ Small rig mini arm And mounted on my Flowtech 75 (best tripod I’ve ever owned!) Most common lenses are the RF 28-70 F2 RF 15-35 F2.8 EF 24 F3.5 TSE Things I have either in shipping or back ordered: Kondor Blue basic cage Kondor Blue v mount system Mid 49 TWIST nato rail to 15mm rod Bright tangerine nato monitor hinge for c400 Mid 49 audio breakout AB 10 kit Things I’m looking into: Kondor Blue Hollywood handle (just the starter handle part) Some sort of quick rotation rosette attachment (for the side handle to be like the fx6) Things I want to come out soon: A 5” monitor that can give full camera control and data over the usbc cable. Ideally something like a small hd indie or cine but with full menu control.

Spot on re the 5" monitor. I did a shoot not that long ago and swear I had focus for someone giving a speech at a lecturn but then a few mins in realized it was soft. A larger monitor may have helped. Should have run peaking but it was hot and I was surrounded by people and So not functioning at my best.

Flowtech 75, love it. Been using it for years and years. Still running strong. Be a little careful with the feet, one snapped on me in the cold. Maybe sure to take time to learn to properly balance and use the counterbalance correctly for smooth consistent moves. When coming from a Manfrotto its a big step up. C300 and C400 use a 4 pin xlr. The big advantage is that you get larger block batteries with 4pin xlr output, so you can get all day runtime, but not relying on house power. Also consider the MiniFab rear battery plates. Great for adding a gold mount or vmount, and low profile, and vlocks can add a lot of runtime while still being hot swappable. I;d also look at Shapes Monitor Arm Mounts, I'm a big fan for more reliable adjustments of the arm using their patented spring loaded rosettes.

Very helpful. Thank you for all that insight. Was the foot of the tripod easy to replace?
@avdpost

@@AlexanderJawfox Oh yah it's trivial to replace, they just pop on a off. It's just really easy to crack them if you don't get used to taking them on and off. they are durable, but can torque and crack.

I got the Sachtler Flo-tech too. Got it used. Love how sturdy it is and quick it is to get extended. Having real trouble figuring out how to make micro adjustments after I realize I am a few inches too high or low once my camera is on framing the shot.

Of course accessories will vary on the line of work of each person. Here’s mine, let me know what you think: (I do documentary work and weddings) -I did caged my C400 with the tilta C400 cage. -Although I agree with you on keeping the rig light, I just couldn’t feel comfortable monitoring my shots with the camera screen I find it too small!. I put a Ninja V on the back of the top handle. -Since I mostly like to use manual lenses: DJI Focus Pro on the left side of the cage, Lidar unit on the front part of the top handle. -Lenses choice: For narrative, documentary and controlled shots: I’m using Arles prime lenses mostly. For wedding receptions and fast movement sequences: 16-35mm EF Canon. For wedding ceremonies 70-200 EF Canon. -For audio I put a Rode NTG5 on the right side of the cage. I mostly use the shoulder mount that comes with the cage but I also have a Manfrotto Tripod, really looking for an upgrade like what you ordered. I still getting used to this kind of rig, I find it more difficult to run and gun compared to my C70 and AF lenses but I’m getting such satisfactory results out of the camera and after controlling the focus completely that I’m still trying to bring this rig almost everywhere I go. Anyways, thanks for the info and channel keep it up!

@@urielsantistebanfilms great gear list, and something I may consider in the future. I’m just trying to go cage free for a while and use the provided monitor. I have the nt5. I love that mic! I haven’t got much experience with the DJI lidar but I have used it. Sounds like a great setup you have.

How do you like the Arles? Are they worthwhile?
@urielsantistebanfilms
@urielsantistebanfilms 5 күн бұрын
@@keylanph Most definitely, although for my line of work they are a little heavy and cumbersome. They are meant to be used in a controlled environment I believe, but since I’m also starting to do narrative work this year I wanted to have a good set of spherical well corrected lenses. This I believe are very well made glass for their price. No focus breathing, creamy bokeh and controlled flares.

always dig the content m8, nice work 👌 one vid i haven't seen anyone do on C400 or C80 yet is a latitude test so-to-speak of the absolute best codec vs the worst codec the camera will produce. curious how these new sensors hold up on with the smallest file size possible, compared to some of it's higher end formats. might not be interesting to anyone else lol, but this is one of the first tests I do with any new camera I get. cheers in '25, keep up the good work!

I use an E-Image tripod with GH15 fluid head with 100mm bowl. I got it for $1,500 on sale thinking it would hold me over until I bite the bullet on a Sachtler kit. The GH15 is so buttery smooth and has so many adjustments I never switched. The equivalent Sachtler setup is about $6,500 😅

How long does the BPA60N battery last with internal 6K RAW recording? Is it necessary to buy an additional battery plate?
@AlexanderJawfox
@AlexanderJawfox 12 күн бұрын
@@MrMislav it last me about 90 min or so if it’s continuously filming. Off and on at an event maybe a half day. I’d definitely recommend a second battery either the 30 or 60. Or just rig it for v mount

The MKE 600 is very problematic. The Sennheiser MKE 416p is much better on every respect and is robust and can deal with years of extreme conditions. Mine is 20 years old and sounds as good as new.

I must admit I love my MKE 600, have it mounted on my run and gun and even when I was shooting a Doc in Jamaica in extremely conditions for a week it didn't fail me, sirprisely I only needed the 1 battery as well - or though one day I will upgrade to the Sennheiser MKE 416p

My 416 is a beast, but honestly as an on camera mic it's all relative. If it's scratch audio, the MKE 600 is totally fine, the differences betwen the 416 and it when mounted on camera is minor imo.
