Seeing them all get eaten and killed brings back memories. When I play Ark I have a strategy. I grind and make a simple outpost until I can work with stone and make a raft. With the raft, I use wood pillars and thatch foundations to bring the foundations to be lower than the planks of the raft, and I turn the foundations to stone. THEN after I set a 3x3 grid of stone foundations, I try to expand it to a 5X5 using ceilings and putting foundations under the ceilings, then remove the ceilings. After that, I put on the walls, including window walls, and double-door frames. I could build my stone box raft to be 1 floor that is 2 walls high, and I can set some large crop plots on top to make plant turrets to defend my boat. I put my beds (2, 4, or more, however many will fit), and I set my crafting tables and storage towards the middle of the raft. BOOM! Mobile base I can use to cross the waters. Safest near shores so I can gather heaps of stone and metal.

@@GyroMuZic It's a handy way to have a base. The ability to pull your base away from danger, and use it as a safe haven from wild dinos is a big plus. It's good for early to mid-game. Also, you can set torches or camp fires to provide heat in the colder areas. If you have access to adobe, you can build a small inner-shack within your raft so you can cross hotter areas like volcanic shores. Having plant turrets to shoot all threats is a big plus too. The big downside though is, you can't start raiding an army or anything if the raft base is your main base... Unless you are catching dimorphadons or other shoulder pets that are capable of attacking enemies. A swarm of dimorphadons is useful, but keep your swarm relatively small for the time being. There's no room for Rexes... I do recommend that you get a phiomia and at least 2 dung beetles. I played Ark Survival Evolved, I can't run Survival Ascended on my current PC because it's 10 years old... I'll need to get an upgrade.But this strategy works since there isn't much difference. I do advise that when you do build your raft base, once you have your 5x5 foundations, you add ramps or stairs from the foundations so you can get back into your raft!

I been noticing through the series that you guys accidentally turn off fires and forges and such... if you hit "F" on keyboard, Square/X on controller you can access inventories directly and it works for everything, like creatures, boxes, and benches...
