Numan's original back in 80' is still pretty amazing for the time. I love it.

Never formally diagnosed but Gary always saw his Asperger’s as a “positive advantage” to his life… Great to play this in April which is autism acceptance month.

Gary is so much more than cars! He is the most underrated and influential artist of the last 50years please review some of his other work I'd suggest down in the park and are friends electric for starters. 😊

Fear Factory covered this song with Gary Numan singing with Burton C. Bell. It was a more Metal interpretation. They nailed it!

Jumpin someone else's train by The Cure. Robert Smith was another musical genius of the 80's.

Definitely worth checking out more Gary Numan songs. For his newer stuff I recommend My Name is Ruin or Intruder. For his older stuff check out the absolute classic Are Friend Electric. The live version of that song from the AllSaints Basement Sessions is killer!

The more live NIN you watch, the more you realize that Trent is a tambourine master.

I first heard Gary Numan - Berserker when I was 11 or12 bc my older brother had some of the songs on a tape. I borrowed it, and the other side was Kraftwerk. My musical taste was born, but it also turned me into an android.

I'm glad you liked the Tambourine!! I had to laugh the first time I saw the original video for 'Cars'. The Tambourine seems totally incongrous within the context of electronic or industrial music. Normally it is seen as a frivolous instrument used to up the 'fun' in pop music so to see Gary Numan featuring it so up front on the video was (and still is) odd to say the least. Additional vaguely interesting info: the 'Cars' video also featured most of Ultravox post John Fox but pre Midge Ure.

While others are recommending reviewing more of his early work, I highly recommend you check out some of his more recent work, like "Saints & Liars", "Love Hurt Bleed", "My Name Is Ruin", "The Fall", and "Healing" (with Ade Fenton, his producer)

Just reminded me why I hate “reaction” videos! I wish I could find this version without having 3/4 of the screen taken up by 2 people amused by the tambourine!
