In my opinion British Artists dominated in the 80 s. Bands like DM,The Cure,The Smiths,Tears for fears, U2, Simply Red,Eurythmics,Wham,Duran Duran,Spandau Ballet,Culture Club,PET Shop Boys,Madness and so on were so refreshing and cool in their music and style.

Point of information U2 was Irish, with the exception of Adam Clayton who was born in England but grew up in Ireland. That said, totally agree with your point. Would also give a nod to the German electronic band Kraftwerk who many consider the godfathers of electronic music. They inspired Depeche Mode and many other band like New Order, Yazoo, Soft Cell, Ultravox...the list is almost endless!
@ClaudiaMach-ol2dl10 ай бұрын
@@alienlickwid oh yes, you are right with U2. My fault😊. But I think we can agree to what I wrote before. And also yes as German I know about the big influence of Kraftwerk to electronic music in general.

There are only 2 artists that I will always go see live. Tool and Depeche Mode. I just saw DM about a month ago, and it was the most money I ever spent on a concert ticket (amazing seats!) I fear they may end after this album tour due to the death of their band mate, with this current album and tour in his memory/honor, but we'll see. I have seen them live in person every time they came to the Detroit area since 1989. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members since 2020, and STILL selling out massive venues. Thank you SO much for covering my all time favorite band! ~Be Blessed

First big breakthrough song for DM in America was People Are People in 1984! They aren't really commercial in the US, but Violator was a huge album with this, Personal Jesus, Policy of Truth as singles. The album before this had Strangelove and Never Let Me Down. The band is still putting out albums today and you should totally check out Ghosts Again & Wagging Tongue from 2023's Memento Mori album. Other great synthetic bands from the 80's are New Order, Pet Shop Boys, OMD, Erasure, & A-Ha!

You might also like the live version they did of this song from “Devotional” (1993), which is rightfully regarded as the best live performance they gave of it. “Ghosts Again” from their album “Memento Mori” (2023) is a more recent recommendation that I think you might like, too.

Legends. Would be interesting to see you react to some of their later/more recent stuff. They have just released a very good new album. First single was „Ghosts again“ and it’s amazing. Other great Depeche Mode tracks would e.g. be Only when I lose myself, It‘s no good, Freelove, Precious or Wrong (the latter with a quite controverse video clip)

StrangeLove is another one of theirs I just love. But Enjoy the Silence was Depeche Mode's zenith song. A masterpiece in composition, the defining synth song.
@ACM-by9lw10 ай бұрын
Depeche Mode was formed in 1981. By Vince Clarke ( Later Yazoo called Yaz in the US and Erasure ) Andy Fletcher, Martin Gore and Lead singer Dave Gahan. Vince left after the first album, the other 3 members continued, the work on a second album. In 1983 Alan Wilder came aboard. He was a genius with synths, samplers and sounds. sadly he left in 1995. They are the biggest electronic rock band for maybe the last 40 yares Their music in the 80s was very underrated. They used samplers and synths in a different way than all the other bands in the 80s did. In the beginning, they made synthpop. Later the music became much more industrial and dark Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence are their 2 biggest hits. Actually, there is an amazing story, behind Enjoy the Silence. Martin originally, wrote this song as a slow ballad, with a harmonium as instrumental back-up. But Alan Wilder, came up with the idea, to put a beat to it. Matin came up with the guitar riff. Then Alan and the producer Flood, took the song to the studio, and Bam. That's how you produce a simple, beautiful and durable synth pop song. In the UK, the song won a 1990 Brit award, for best British single. I love the studio version. Other great songs: Everything Counts, a political song about corporate greed. Master and Servant, blasphemous rumours, Stripped. Just can't get enough. their first big single in 1981. They released their 15th album called Memento Mori back in March this year

Gary Numan kick started all Electronic bands like Depeche Mode and all that came alone in the 1980s, with number one hits like Are Friend Electric and Cars in 1979. Up until that point electronic music was pretty much unheard of in the UK and the rest of the world. Gary Numan is today know as a pioneer the synth the god father.

Why is the video flipped? I've seen this video (Live in Berlin) a hundred times but this is the first reaction where someone flipped it. Martin Gore (the guitar player is right handed, not left as the video indicates) and he always plays to Dave Gahan's right (as looking from the stage to the audience). I just saw them in concert in Portland Oregon and they crushed it! This was the last song before the encore, which included 4 more songs, and ended with Personal Jesus.

At their beginnings they were classified as a new-wave electro band, but quickly they broadened their musical palette by adding rock ("Personal Jesus" for example) Today they are a real rock band, their show is a rock show and as you know rock is an infinite musical palette. Let's stop putting The Music in boxes...

Ruin the whole experience of enjoying the reaction with unskippable ads that start video all over again. I was enjoying your reaction to song and yt threw an unskippable ad which sucks and made me click off ad and than video restarted again which made me leave reaction video because of the ads and in the middle of song. Pretty sad if monetization is including ads halfway through a reaction and as someone who sees enough ads on regular tv and have to see them on yt reactions is sad just so you can get views and a few bucks.
