I have never seen that grafting tape before it looks really nice to work with, but probably with loads of practice. Thanks for sharing!

Nope, don't try on maples, you want to do thread or approach graphs, which are really easy and very reliable. I don't have any videos yet of these methods yet, but there are a few examples on KZbin of them.
