Summary Write the target material in your own handwriting Read material ten times with full focus immediately just before going to sleep After waking up wash face with cold water and read target material with full concentration 10 times . Results vary based on persons memorisation capability. Repeat this technique multiple times until topic is mastered.

In this video the respected sir talked about memorization technique First step: write the hand written notes in your own way. Second step : read the material 10 times before going to bed with full concentration Third step : when you wake up early read again 10 times In this way we are going to train our subconscious mind. By doing this we can master memorization technique

This is something I've discovered by myself during my school days. I've applied this method and it is very useful for science and other subjects like history where we have to focus on every single detail and timeline. It's pretty helpful even if you're using it few days before exams before going to bed because during sleeping our subconscious connects dots. I'm glad to see that people who talking about it 🙏🦋🦋

I discovered this myself as well in college. I also found that reading the material aloud helped me to focus and I was using another sense: writing the material, reading it silently as well as aloud reading to involve another sense. Once I discovered this process I made much better grades. I wish I’d discovered this much earlier in life!

I found another method accidentally. Almost same as this. Write the target material and reading it simultaneously. Do it for more times. But trying to memorize more length of the line and writing it. If you do it for nearly 3 to 4 times, you will memorize easily. I was surprized the first time I applied this. When I wrote the exam, words from the essay are coming to my pen without any effort. I put my pen on the paper and words are coming. I applied this to languages. If I had known this in my earlier stages of my life, my life would have been different. If anybody use this on exams successfully, I will be the happiest person. 1) Conviction to learn is important. 2) Writing one time with concentration is better than reading 10 times

I did not know this as a formal technique, but I used to do at least part of this during my school days. Considering the vast amount of history we had to memorize (Mohenjo-Daro Harappa up to British rule), I used to make my own notes in a book which I then read daily after dinner. It helped me tremendously in remembering details of various rulers spanning centuries. The step about reading next morning is intriguing. Thank you for this video and I will certainly try all the steps in my present day learning of Indian scriptures.

Sir, your methods of memorization has also been what my mother uses since becoming a member of the school administration.. I always wonder how she does it when no matter how long the speech was according to the occasion, she never used the papers that she wrote the speech on. She never holds anything. Except a microphone. She always finishes the entire speech with confidence. She did the same techniques as yours. She also told me that she would read the speech aloud a couple of times with the paper then afterwards she will memorize it aloud or in a whisper without looking at the paper. She would do so while staring at a plain white wall and it's as if the papers were like pages of a book moving in her mind. The next practice day she never holds the paper anymore and she can memorize the whole thing. I understand now. Thanks for the tips, sir.

Very Nice. I think the act of writing and reading the material several times strengthens the synapses that connect Neurons in the brain. Those strong connections make it easier to recall memorised material. Doing it at night before sleep allows the subconscious mind to keep working without distraction. Obviously this will be hard to implement for large volumes of material. It might work great for memorising a speech that is 2-3 pages long or for learning key concepts in any subject.

As many have mentioned, I have practiced similar techniques based on my own intuition and learning experience. Also, I recommend the following technique to my students (since we have a lot of derivations to learn!): 1>>Write the derivation/notes (while simultaneously reading aloud, if preferred) once - with the aid of the book/reference material 2>>Close the book and write the derivation from memory once 3>>Evaluate with the book, and note the places where you made a mistake 4>>Study those places with more attention (use dimensional analysis or mnemonics if possible) 5>>Repeat steps 1 through 3 once again Leave a couple of days gap and do the same thing again... This time you can even directly start from step 2 (to see how much retention you have) I also suggest they have a schedule so that they can study some other topics during the in-between days and learn more material!

When you read the chapter or book first time make a note of key points or words in that in a separate sheet and use this sheet to memorize as explained in this method . Pardon me for writing a comment before trying the technique mentioned in the video. Though my comment looks skeptical, I would like to express my doubts whether this technique was in use since Ancient times because Vedas are called "Srutis" meaning they are passed from generation to generation through the form of only hearing and remembering without using "written form". Perhaps this technique based on Writing with own hands is modern method compared to other methods like Sruti's and Smritis.

This classical technique was induced by my class teacher with a whip in his hand. I still remember vividly the texts of my school and university days. Thanks for refreshing my past three scores and ten ago. Much Love to Doctor Sahib.

You may find this knowledge useful... The word "every" means "each", so a noun or verb that follows after "every" must be in the SINGULAR form. Examples: Every man, woman and child must apply this excellent technique in order to memorise anything. / May peace come upon the earth in every nation, every home, and every family. / Everybody loves somebody sometime. / Every day is a day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. / Every day in every way I'm getting better & better.

Accidentally this technique was known to me, used to do this during student days

Fantastic! It is part of the cultural tradition of India. Only, sometimes it is not quite visible. I don't think that you started using it by accident. Thank you for your comment!

Gratitude ! But how did our ancestors memorize before the invention of writing ?
@banyantree_Raghu2 жыл бұрын
This is an excellent query. To claim that writing came very late in India is a very Western interpretation of the scenario. Still, there must have been a time without script. I shall speak about in another video. Thank you!

👌👌👌I totally agree. Our elders also advised so. Our Physics Professor MKK Menon made us to by heart the entire subject to score well telling he as a Rank holder in Masters made by heart the entire 2000 page notes. When we study Vedas, the Guru makes us chant each sloka ten times and we learn without books.

Thank you for your brilliant comment! Unfortunately, many students of today look down upon memorisation. They claim to believe in understanding rather than in memorisation. But the fact is that comprehension and memorisation are not contradictory processes. Thank you, once again!

Sir I am 72. I am a student of Jaltarang. I need to memorize many notations which I am not able to I need to see and perform as a result I miss on timings. I will try your system. However one small raga or song takes atleast 10 minutes. Can I read two or 3 times at night and in morning again?

First of all, let me congratulate you for your effort at your age. I am sure that your passionate commitment will be rewarded. I agree with you. You have to tweak the methodology as demanded by the situation. My prayerful good wishes!

What if I have to memorize a whole chapter?Should I write the whole chapter and read the chapter 10 times, I will take more than 30 minutes to finish it one time. Should I repeat it 10 times more or I should say for 5 hours?

This is an interesting question. Would it be possible to prepare a template of the chapter and memorize the template using the methodology, and relate the template to the chapter?

cold water shocks our nervous system, which triggers our body's fight-or-flight response, producing an intense adrenaline rush, which makes our brain to retain information much better. please refer huberman podcast to understand better why cold water shower helps with memory

Thank you very much Sir for your informative video. I always wrote the material down ...in fact many times. Also used to read aloud and try to recall the same. I'll now read it 10 times as suggested by you before bedtime and after waking up. I'm sure I'll benefit tremendously. Would be a great boon to senior citizens who worry about becoming senile.
