Thank you for whoever worked to make this film, it's such an eye opening film. As an Afghan it made me tear up and cry cause we Afghans have suffer enough pain and violence. My beloved country:( hopefully one day I see peace and no explosions in Afghanistan.

When movies in the rest of the world other than Afghanistan are increasingly becoming frivolous dealing with lighter aspects of life, it is heartening to see Afghan movies are serious and deal with life and death questions involving faith, politics and human values. The movie and its protagonist, Yakub, have been handled with great feeling and depth by the director, photographer and the principal actor. Salaam to all of them and one only hopes the sad and besieged land of Afghanistan find satisfactory answers to the questions to the long-term benefit and peace of Afghanistan and its people.

I am an ardent admirer of Khaled Hosseini. It was through his books that I came to know Afghan and Kabul. While watching this film, although it was my first time "seeing" Afghan, I felt a certain familiarity with the place. With the streets, the dukkaans, the clothing, the heat and the dust. Love every bit of this film.

This movie is absolutely amazing.The main character (Yaqub) has played his role in such a great fashion that I cannot describe it in words. This is a masterpiece...The sound, filming, light and the abstract portray of the story is absolutely stunning as far as the movies industry is concerned in Afghanistan and possibly "South Asian Countries". As a viewer, I truly admire the efforts you put into making this movie. Hope this on going tragedy in Afghanistan comes to an end one day, especially, before my time is up ...

Nice movie. Conversation between Yaqub and the police officer has a good teaching for us. I'm a muslim from Bangladesh and I confess that commiting suicide attacks is haram (prohibited) in Islam. It will take you directly to hellfire.

For people who believe in reincarnation, it's a bad idea to commit suicide because when you're born again on earth, your life will be in a worse condition than before. For example, if you were living comfortably as a hardworking middle class citizen and you commit suicide because of work, love or religion, in your next life you could be born in poverty or a war torn country, where your struggle will be worse compared to your past life. So committing suicide is like sending yourself to Hell...so very bad idea.

. Lyrical movie. The Protagonist Yaqub has literally lived his role. Simply mind blowing performance . All the other cast members have done equally well. The poignant issue is how a sacred religion with a universal message of Love and Forgiveness have got derailed by vested interests. The ending really crushed me. The way he was so protective over the apples, clinging to the hope that they'd somehow lead him to his son, was heartbreaking. When he finally realized he’d never see him again, that hope shattered. His desperation to give the apples away after that felt like a desperate attempt to hold onto some sense of purpose or gratitude. The emotional shift from holding onto hope to the painful acceptance of loss was devastating and really stayed with me.

SunhanAllah! Such a heartbreaking story, the agony and suffering of a father who lost his 3 sons is ineffable. What a piece of art.. While I was watching, my pores were all wide-opened as I felt the emotion in every scene of this movie that pierced through my heart, I felt like I'm not really watching a movie but a reality. Something that is very rare in todays' cinematography. The main actor is Applausable, the way he portrayed his role, I'm deeply touched by this movie,.
