Banger Moffat ep followed by RTD at his very best: hell of a two weeks. Can’t help feeling they shouldn’t have had three of the lighter eps back to back (church-devil’s chord). Didn’t show off the variety of this series

@@cyberfox7249 I think Bubble and Dot is gonna be more about VR, which I suppose is still video games in a sense, but I’m interested to see what they do with it. From the Next Time, it seems kinda like a regular monster of the week episode, but who knows, maybe it’ll surprise us.

73 yards was wonderful The doctor lite was necessary due to ncutis absence whilst filming sex education so to see them knock it out of the park is an amazing surprise Finally bringing up the constant suzan twist cameos is such a joy and the return of Kate Stewart aswell was a brilliant touch Season 1 not had a miss so far love to see it 9/10 not the twin dilemma but still brilliant

73 yards was pretty good. I love when Ruby used the woman to make the politician run away. Though I‘m a little confused if she actually changed anything, because of the ending where everything reset. The ending kind of undid the whole episode. I loved EVERYTHING about the episode. The welsh people kind of taking the piss out of Ruby, the mysterious atmosphere and the woman making people run away, but the ending undoing everything was the one thing that made the episode feel a little meaningless. I hope it will make more sense in the finale maybe. At the end of the episode I was left with one question: Why are the people who approached the old Ruby so scared/disgusted by the young ruby?
@ManiacalflameYT4 ай бұрын
it didn't undo the episode, the only reason that the politician existed is because The Doctor broke the circle. he didn't break it the 2nd time. I'm assuming the reason The Doctor vanished is that maybe he switched places with where the politician's soul was being kept? I don't fully understand it but it's one of those episodes where the confusion only adds to the mystery 2nd time
@schmokmok694 ай бұрын

I don't mind the fact it got undone. It reminded me of the old amy from the girl who waited, it still all happened for her, and she had to sacrifice herself for the younger Ruby
@schmokmok694 ай бұрын
@@DannyTR If zou put it like that it makes more sense to me now, though I still felt more of a resolution in that episode with amy. Maybe it's also just the recency bias, where I just don't really understand the ending that much to like it properly.

Yeah I love season 40 of Doctor Who too, it has yet to put out an episode I don't enjoy. Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson are amazing, the mystery is interesting, and I love the kind of stuff this season does. We're ALREADY halfway through and it's just incredibly consistent in staying firmly in the good to masterpiece range imo. 8 episodes just aren't enough, it's such a shame! 73 Yards was brilliant, but I'm gonna need a rewatch or 2 for my thoughts on it to settle. So hyped for next week, as I usually am when there's more Doctor Who.

I can't believe I thought the first night, after watching Space Babies and Devil's Chord, that I really thought, "This doesn't feel like Doctor Who." I re-watched those episodes, ended up liking Devil's Chord and not hating Space Babies. Boom was fantastic, 73 Yards is fantastic, so man was I wrong! I've said it a few times, but if you're one of those people that gave up on the show after Space Babies or Devil's Chord, re-watch them, because just a simple re-watch changed everything. If you still don't like them? Then watch Boom and 73 Yards. If you don't like those two I really don't know what to tell you. They're great episodes that hold up against top episodes from any season in the shows history.

Agreed on Blink. IMO The Angels Take Manhattan is the best Weeping Angel outing thus far. It perfectly conveys the cruelty and arrogance of the Angels without resorting to giving them a human mouthpiece. It also legitimizes the Angels in a way that I felt Time of the Angels and Flesh & Stone failed to. By focusing on the original powers of the Weeping Angels rather than introducing new ones, TATM proves that the Angels are fully capable of carrying a story on their own with no additional gimmicks. And by highlighting the horror potential of time displacement, it just makes the Weeping Angels an even scarier foe. Don’t get me started on the rest of the episode, I could go on, and on, and on… But yeah, anyways, The Angels Take Manhattan > Blink. Both are great episodes but man, TATM is on another level.
