This home is quite successful at being a refuge in an urban environment. It reminds me of what Olmsted sought to achieve by creating parks within urban environments for residents to use as a refuge as well. This home is perfectly nestled among vegetation with an upper floor which has an amazing view and a lower floor which gazes among the plants growing in the garden. The warmth of the upper floor in contrast to the coolness of the lower floor which is a sleeping area is very smart. Great use of light with unique design.

Absolutely stunning home, I just love everything about it. Fabulous views and such a calming feel about the place. I love the bedrooms being downstairs, feeling cosy and yet still bright and the living space is just beautiful almost like living in a tree house. Expensive finishes throughout. I love the fluted concrete panels although they do look like they are sharp and could hurt kids hands? Fabulous though.

This was a great project. The obvious detail that impressed me was that as you approach the dwelling you have clear separation from your neighbors providing the privacy on a very crowded building site. The reversal of public and private spaces also help with the exposure maximizing views. I am very curious how this home sits on the site in relation to the buildings next to it.
