An arm and a leg: Two patients’ limb-lengthening experiences | Boston Children’s Hospital

Lauren underwent limb-lengthening to correct an arm-length difference she’d been born with. Caden had limb-lengthening after a childhood lawnmower accident stopped the growth in one of his legs. While Lauren’s arm was lengthened with an external device and Caden’s leg was lengthened with an internal rod, both underwent surgery followed by months of lengthening and healing.
