Most photographers would probably agree that Bombo Quarry would make it into Australia's Top-Ten landscape photography 'dream destination' list.
Heritage listed in 1999, Bombo Quarry was a project which ran from the 1880s until closing in 1940. Nearby railways, which were mainly built with basalt, were constructed in this area from the sandstone/basalt rock which was excavated from the quarry.
Nowadays, the area is fully accessible and it provides some dramatic shots for photographers who want to combine a raging sea with the cragginess of the quarry walls. It's well worth a visit..!
