I've had a tactical Tomahawk for years, It was given to me my by one of my most Tactical friends, who I have been in action with on the mean streets. I carry it in the door pocket of my SUV, Living in South Louisiana I have always had a fear of going into a Canal , Bayou or swamp in my car and being able to break the window to escape as well as carrying a sharp blade to cut seatbelts. It is also handy in my car door if I need to defend myself. I think these Tomahawks are an often overlooked defense and survival tool . Again Jason Thanks for your informative and entertaining videos. Be Safe, LL

Halfbreed Blades have been around for years. When I was shipping for my hawk I had my eye on thier products, but ultimately went with Spyderco's WarriorHawk. RMJ Tactical is another big name in high end tactical blades, and they are USA based. I don't know if it was deliberate, but you were using the wrong end for the testing. Basically everything you did, save maybe the mirror, should have been done with that devastating spike. That is the whole reason for the spike, penetrative hard surfaces with minimal force. The blade end is usually relegated to hacking jobs where a deep penetrating spike would be less then ideal, like breaching a door or a wall

I've carried a Schrade SCAXE5 Tactical Hatchet, Gerber LMFII and a magnesium handle folding saw that takes reciprocating saw blades from a tree pruning to metal and ceramic blades for many years in my kit. The difference is the Schrade has a crowbar at the bottom of the handle. Plus it has a hole in the handle that I can attach a rope to and use it as a grappling hook. By the way if you're hitting your car window always aim for the corner because if you hit the window in the middle it will just bounce back. Since 2018 a US Federal Regulation states that all cars must have shatterproof safety glass on all four sides. That's why sometimes when you see people hitting the middle of a window it just bounces back.

Okay, Jason...you convinced me. I want one. It seems like it held up remarkably well, as I personally would have wanted a different blade material like Cryo D2 instead of plain D2. However, it seems to work just fine.

You can get cheap sog ones and toss them if you beak them. It can do as much damage as that thing. The good ones are used for breaching things more than fighting.

Thanks for the video. I'm disappointed with what a terrible place that Australia has become and how horrible the government is. That will help me resist the urge to buy one of these. There's a CRKT tomahawk that I still want if I'm ever going to buy another tomahawk. I still have one tomahawk from a company that I no longer support. That one will have to cover my tomahawk needs.

I don't care for tomahawks for self defense unless that's the only thing you have. They have a lot of limitations and are far easier to disarm than a knife. They are handy to have in the bush.

Yeah.. well he seems to be demoing it as a blunt force weapon like a bat or baton which is clearly not the best use for it. There's a whole bunch of great war/combat techniques for axes that have been proven in battle for thousands of years so without knowledge and training of those, I would agree that this is not very effective.
