Really like the step by step instructions for this setup. Haven't set up logic myself, but I feel more confident I can do it with this video as a guide. Thank you for making this video. 😊

question, how would you do a setup where it only smelts once you put a size input? for like smelting specific sizes for missions

Hello thanks for your question, so for this specific scenario it’s very difficult to get the smelter to extract on a specific number because of the delays and constant resources flowing through, so to achieve this you would need to filter in a logic saw hook into the system to cut bars into specific amounts

@@Krypt0nite yessir! Thank you! I ended up figuring it out. I realized that if I use a keypad and a wire splitting from they keypad Into the smelter and cutter it pours out the smelter and then gets cut to the desired size. It took me a while to figure it out. I didn’t realize the logic worked in pulses and that anything above a 1 is considered an “activation pulse” and a zero is a “deactivation pulse” I did this with all my smelters and then the desired ingots get sent to my work stations and then the excess gets sent back into the sorting system to be smelted again. Edit: I just gotta figure out how to do the same thing with gem compressors and I’ll be good to go. Your tutorials have really helped

Update. I figured out how to do it with compressors. Basically from the keypad it splits off to the magnets and the cutter. The magnets have two wires. One is a straight diode the other is a 2 second delay with a flip hook and diode. Then to the cutter it’s the same thing, but with a ten second delay. Then for the smelters it’d the same thing, but with a 3 second delay for both smelter and cutter. This way it turns off my magnets and resets the cutters with one input

what does the magnet above do?

Catches the excess ores while the conveyor turns off to avoid clogging the system 😁

I have followed step by step. But the tap stays off it doesn't turn on

Same happened here when I followed the exact steps as laid out here. The water valves are perpetually turned off in the same way the auto-smelter continuously cycles on without the flip hook. The solution is to put a flip hook on the cables leading to the water supply.
