Lore wise though, Resident service does a lot for the island, as mentioned by the villagers. villagers mentioned that they do a LOT of paper work everyday. it was mentioned that everything the player does practically generates paper work for nook and isabelle to deal with. what the paper's about, I have no idea. Legal stuff probably. placing furniture outside? paper work. donating stuff to the museum? paper work. selling and buying stuff? paper work. getting knocked out by a tarantula and stung by wasps? paper work. destroying and making cliffs? paper work. the list goes on, and note: nook practically owns a BAJILLION islands with other players doing whatever. i'm surprised they're not killed by the work yet.
