This goes to show that they need not just more charging stations, and more reliable ones. When 1 of 4 is broken, that's already a 25% reduction in capacity. The NEVI funding for public EV charging stations should've required a minimum of 8 stalls to qualify, since it seems many chargepoint operators aside from Tesla are only putting the absolute bare minimum of 4 stalls. Hopefully as Tesla builds more V4 Superchargers, this becomes less of an issue over time.

The BMW free charging is only for 30 minutes, so any time longer than 30 minutes he was there he was paying

The incessant complaining about someone else using free charging is annoying.

Everyone who continues to cheers about removing incentives, like free charging, is fighting against their own cause. If you have a problem with people taking advantage of free charging and “clogging up the stations”, complain that they need to build more chargers. If you take away the incentive, no one will buy. If you don't build enough chargers, no one will buy. You really need to think about what you’re saying as a social media influencer because people are listening to you. Not everyone is able to charge at home; I can’t so if I were to get the 2024 ID 4, I would’ve still had to sit at a public charger. I cancelled my pre-order for my for 2024 ID 4 because they removed the free charging and now I am sticking with my gas guzzling Tiguan which sucks. I cannot afford the gas, I cannot afford the high rates of the DC charging at this time. So while you cheer on VW’s terrible decision to remove an incentive, you are not helping your cause.

He didn't specify, but it was more about the BMW charging to 100%. Because of the charging curve, charging up to the top 20% takes the longest, and wastes a lot of time. It's to the point that it would be faster to charge to 80%, discharge some battery, and charge again at another charger. But I ultimately agree, there needs to be more chargers and better maintenance of them, because people could have special circumstances.

He complains in every video. He had free charging but now he doesn’t want anyone to have it. I saw him on PlugShare so I know they made it. It is his fult no one else. Not every ev owner has a garage. Don’t be Kyle Connor.

It may not be on your radar but new EVgo sites just opened in Brookville & London, Ohio right along I-70. Not free but likely a better experience. Fair Oaks, Indiana looks to be online soon as well

This is why you give yourself a buffer so you don't run the battery to zero. And not all the charging has to be free, people will still save money if they go to a mix of EA and non-EA chargers. And charging from 0% means you're "clogging" the charger for longer too...
