I have the same situation. My wife and I both work from home but only she owns a car which I prefer not to drive. I use an ebike to grocery shop, go out to my local parks and trails and ride the 150 mile paved loop we have here in Tucson. My old ebike died last week. This is the ebike I've decided to get next.

I bought a used Ebike recently. The pedal-assist is SO helpful for this old girl. I no longer fear hills and grades. Or avoid them, for that matter. I feel that I can go anywhere now instead of just 'easy' trails. I agree with Scott that when it kicks in it's a little scary at first! They are SO very heavy. I am unable to lift it to put it on the bike rack. My regular bike I had no trouble lifting it straight up. Scott's is a very cool looking bike and I hope he enjoys it!

Hubby and I have one and ya they are heavy. Hubby has to put them j to bike rack on truck no way can I do it but we have trails close by we can ride on around here. So fun right?

Love to see Scott getting something cool! I thought the same thing as he did when they came out but living in rural Spain surrounded by hills and mountains I kinda get it now

For that hard to reach bolt on the rear fender I would recommend deflating the tire first. That would have given you a little more room.

I recommend getting padded bike pants!! Lol it helps and/or better padded seat.

If you have headphones you can sync to Bluetooth on the bike. Or you can sync Bluetooth to your cellphone while riding

I'm Dutch so I live in a country where we have more bikes than people.😂 I have my E-bike almost 14 years now (a so called city bike and totally different than this typical American model bike which makes a lot of noise by the way) and I love my bike, can't use a normal bike anymore because of my health and this bike keeps me mobile all year around, only use my car in my city if I really need it to transport people or big things and that's not often. I don't know if you have bicycle bags in the US but they are really handy on a bike when you want to use the bike to transport stuff like groceries.

Nice job on the review. I noticed in one of your responses you mentioned they might re-write the assembly or instruction manual. They may have done that. I received one a few days ago and it only took me about an hour to assemble. I had not watched any videos at that point in time. With that said, the top speed I am able to get is only about 19 MPH. The listing has been updated to say it will go 28MPH. My tires are inflated to 20psi per the manual and the brakes aren't dragging. Even without a load, it is still just at 19 or 20. I used an app on my phone that verified the speedometer is accurate. I also tried all 7 gears and all of the assist settings. I wondered what your top speed is on your bike. If you have any thoughts on a solution, let me know. Thank you!
@forcedbreathingistyranny6963 ай бұрын
There is a speed unlock mechanism with those bikes usually. Try to find it in youtube or reddit.. it's generally the same combination of buttons for most of those ebikes. You will get 28mph that way.
@brettm75973 ай бұрын
I already did that... It changed it from eighteen to twenty one.

I don’t recall it taking hubby 4 hrs to put ours together but is a different brand. I’m thinking maybe 2 hrs?? Ours is a Voltbike.

We did a 25 mile bike ride once on ours ( but not since lol) I usually ride mine between 6 and 12 miles each time I ride. So fun!!!!
@Myeverydaywifelife Жыл бұрын
Yea you have to pedal! The battery just assists you in pedaling to make it easier to pedal. Our a has a throttle you can use to coast a little but it drains battery quick. Ours have option to adjust the levels form 1 to 8, level 1 get very little battery assist and 8 in obvious really assist you.
@Myeverydaywifelife Жыл бұрын
Yep at 0 it’s really hard to pedal!!! We’ve rude ours as much as 25 miles but that was a lot. I ride mine between 6 and 12 miles usually. It’s so fun! Expensive but good investment. You need one too Sophia!

This one has a throttle too. Same thing with the adjustment.

I love the fact you give full reviews. When companies are targeting people who are not tech/mechanical etc but want to move into this area they have to take this into account and not assume that we can figure it out. I do not mind being treated as children rather than waste time

I took my defender to a ebike service, paid $100 to assemble, they had a number of the same bikes for rent, said they were sturdy, got it home and then took.out every nut bolt and screw cleaned and lubed every part put it together , torqued every screw nut or bolt, going to install rear suspension I'm 74 and could use the comfort.,still riding it in my trailer park have a circular 20ft wide asphalt drive. It's just under a mile. I'm doing 20 laps got it up to 22, going to take it out on street this week with the clothes and equipment got $2100, did not come with rear suspension so going to install that. Anyway I'm off and biking PEACE Charles Charles

I would have taken the box to a bike shop and have them assemble it for me That way you know it’s been assembled correctly. A 7 hour charge seems excessive to me
@Myeverydaywifelife Жыл бұрын
Problem is before you start putting it together you don’t realize something like that is gonna take that long and if you are 2 hrs in you may as well finish it yourself.
@mygreatchallenge Жыл бұрын
That s 7 hours if on empty. I don't suppose you d empty it every time you use it. Not everyone has a shop nearby. I want to keep the videos authentic. If it sucked to assemble it, I will say so. Tired of fake reviews out there. Honesty matters.
