Sadly purchased the TST SURFER - The controller is not working. The first one was stuck on pedal assist 5 and the replacement they sent will not power the bike up. Stay away.

Sorry to hear about that! We hope they can get you back in action soon! We haven’t had this one too long as of yet. Our only issue besides the cons we mentioned in the video was quick battery fade, but we were on our first conditioning cycle or two and doing a lot of various tests and testing in different conditions.

How long does battery last if you’re doing 2-3? I have hills where I live. Any issues going up or down hills? Also I’m 66 and haven’t been on a bike for years 😂 not sure if I should try this.

Once you try it, you'll love it! Hence the old saying, "it's just like riding a bike!" We did not do full and complete battery testing, but in our tests, we used a myriad of pedal assists, used throttle only and rode on various surfaces and up and down lots of hills. We were able to get around 26 miles out of the first and only charge. Ebike batteries need to be conditioned, though, so you can get optimum mileage. Conditioning entails at least three cycles of charging fully, depleting to near empty and repeating. Also, there are so many variables built into the range - assist level used, psi of the tires, surface ridden on, terrain, rider weight and how much pedaling you do versus how much "throttle only" you use. So, really range is a variable best guess. Our best guess on this bike is with a 2-3 pedal assist in a hilly area, expect around 30-35 miles at the most.

Thanks for the review!!! Wondering if you’d be willing to tell me the seat height at lowest position. I’m only 5’0 and haven’t been able to find inseam or seat height info anywhere…

We’ll measure it when we get back home and let you know. We have three brands we can check. Paul is 5’3” and all three of our small frame bikes are comfortable for him.
@50pluslife360Ай бұрын
Seat height on the TST at the lowest possible level is 29”. On our Vanpowers step-through it’s about 30 1/2” and on our Aventon Aventures is 30”. We have reviewed all these brands on our channel. so you can check them out if you want. Of course price points vary from $400, $900-$1200, and $1800 (in order). With any brand for shorter riders, we would really recommend either a step-thru model or a bike with smaller tires (24” or 20”) if not being able to touch the ground while sitting on the seat is a concern. Our Aventon and TST are not step-thru bikes but the cross bar is lower near the seat. Paul is used to sliding off the seat and putting his bottom over the bar so he can flat foot on the ground and he is accustomed to that and comfortable. His inseam is about 28-29” but for pedaling comfort he rides with his seat about 4” above minimum height. He’s been on 2 wheels since he was 3 and he’s really not much taller now so he’s gotten accustomed to vertical challenges when riding bikes and motorcycles. Lectric makes very nice e-bikes in the $800 range with 20” tires. We’d love to review a Lectric but they are popular enough that they don’t need ‘influencers’ anymore!

We got your email. Tammy hasn't had time to sit down and look it up yet. We've been knee deep in renovations this week, but I'll remind her tonight!

What dimension? Length or height? Handlebar or cross bar? It’s a 26” tire.

Do you know how to connect that bike to your phone?
@50pluslife3605 ай бұрын
We did not try as when we prepared to download the app we saw many reviews that said there were connection issues. Apparently it’s through Bluetooth pairing which we have problems with anyway from many other devices 😬This page on the TST site may help - tstebike.com/pages/app-register Would recommend not having the phone on wi-fi, being away from other Bluetooth devices, having only one phone in range and having the battery fully charged on the bike. Even with our more expensive Aventon bikes we were not impressed with the app and we used third party apps to track our rides and mileage (AllTrails, Strava, etc.). Hope this helps!
