Dazzler's mutant power was to convert sound into light, including finger lasers, as one commenter already mentioned. She was my first introduction to the X-Men. I don't remember how I got the comic, but I had the issue where she an Angel fought Rogue, Mystique, and Destiny. Rogue freaks out when Mystique commands her to kiss Angel because she's afraid she will grow wings.

Really looking forward to this. Remember buying the start of the original run - really tacky and full of guest stars to make the book sell but for 80s nostalgia I’m all in. I believe that Beauty & Beast mini has some “interesting” content, very much of its time. Great to see this finally produced. Thanks for the video

Don't get it twisted.. Dazzler is an icon and such an underrated X character. Her power is incredible and she's a fan favorite. Heather Graham would have been perfect to play her in the 90s

True story: Chris Claremont originally based Dazzler on Grace Jones, but was overruled by Marvel editorial cuz they liked Bo Derek in "10".

That's not entirely accurate (you're basically right though because you can find a sketch of Dazzler as a black woman) - the character was basically created by committee with Marvel in conjunction with the music company Casablanca Records - iirc several people were involved in her creation including Jim Shooter and John Romita Jr

6:00 While many of us who were introduced to X-Men through the cartoon may prefer Jubilee, she only first appeared in 1989, whereas Dazzler already had a decade of history at that point. That 1992 arcade game based its roster (including Dazzler) on the earlier 1989 animation _Pryde of the X-Men,_ which came out in the middle of the (beloved) Outback era of Uncanny X-Men (1988~1990), when Dazzler was part of the team. The Jubilee nostalgia that exists now didn't exist then, and the truth is Jubilee (and Boom-Boom) is honestly kinda derivative of Dazzler (powers-wise). Oh yeah, and Dazzler can make a finger gun and shoot a laser out of it, which is too cool!

I got a grip of these issues from quarter boxes (they were later in the run) and I actually enjoyed them - they read like an old romance comic transplanted to the 80s with superhero elements. I might pick this up, i know my wife (who only reads shoujo manga, saga and Ms. Marvel until it rebooted after Secret Wars) will probably like it. The build on this looks good.

Taylor Swift has already acted in multiple films. I'm not a Swiftie, I don't think much of her music, but she is a perfect casting for Dazzler (depending in whether she'd be able to give a good performance). Not to say I wouldn't mind an unknown or smaller actor getting the role, but it's the MCU so they would never lol

I used to collect Dazzler back in the day, so I am looking forward to getting this omnibus. Really looks great. I am glad Marvel continues to release all this classic content. I would rather read all these stories from the past than modern comics.

I own the Masterwork editions. I was blown away when marvel announced this would be 1 omni. I'm assuming the paper quality is equal to truck stop bathroom toilet paper quality.

I was a Dazzler fan after/during the Fall of the Mutants run. Converting sound into light and being able to apply it in various ways is a decent power set. Alison is a cool character and should definitely make an appearance in the MCU’s Mutant Saga. I’m not sure I’ll be buying the Omni though. No space on the shelves for this behemoth!

Look, there are different aesthetics and vibes that Dazzler aka Alison Blaire has and depending on the era, could be played by a slew of actresses who may not sing. The default go-to era has got to go. That's the art of casting! I dunno if RR would even take it seriously bonafide or have it fall under the Deadpool shenanigans umbrella...but thus being about the Omni: I'll take it!
