I actually had an idea for an early route bug for my own fanmade region. It's mainly inspired by the classic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar but also incorporates an arts and crafts theme, particularly ones involving paper such as paiper-mache or paper cutting. This is mainly in reference to the fact that the author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Eric Carle, created the illustrations in his children's books by making collages with different colored pieces of tissue paper.

I had a route one bug idea too! It's based on a leaf bug where it's final evolution was a bug and dragon type which does not exist! It's first stage was lelarva! Leaf + larva. it evolves into pilcoon. Pile + cocoon. And its final evolution is decidrag! Dedicated + dragon!

I have also created a Masked Hunter bug Pokemon, though it disguises itself to look more rabbit like, making it a dust bunny as well. Females evolve into a bug/fairy type wolpertinger Pokemon Males use stronger materials to become bug/rock, then when you use a metal coat on them, they become bug/steel

A few years ago, when I was like 14, I made my own bug/rock evolution line. I named them Rubug, Crystalis, and Diamoth. As you can see, two of them are the same names given to the bug/rock line in the video. My heart sank deeper than the Mariana Trench when I saw their names, I thought I was so clever 😭.

I had another idea for the fairy type I did with a regional Leavanny if we were to get a German region- Rumpelstiltskin. A physical attacker with Pixilate, in reference to how Rumpel spun plain straw into gold. They make their nests out of dried straw and dead grasses, which was already brown and yellow, the shiny film they cover it in just makes it *look* like gold. The bug also uses it to make things shiny, and turn the tables on bird Pokémon. Birds of course like to eat the baby stage most, so they spin decoys, and set traps so the real offspring can eat.

OMG, I love this video. Bug is my favorite typing, and I've always wanted some of these typings for early route bugs. I actually made some artwork of a Bug/Ghost early route bug for my Africa region, the Zambezi region. It's caterboo, chryscophagus, and Scareabeetle. Based off caterpillar and boo, then chrysalis and sarcophagus, and scare/scarab/and beetle. Its an Egyptian scarab. The middle evolution looks like a mummy in a sarcophagus. Scareabeetle is a scarab with Egyptian heiroglyphs on it. The region has a bunch of cool mons, includng an electric/ground Cheetah, an early route mormal type baboon, a gendered split evo dark type hyena pokemon, ans much more.

I know you made a distinction between ants and wasps, and while they are different bugs, they're extremely closely related. Ants are just a wingless offshoot of wasps. That's why under certain circumstances you can get ants with wings! Knowledge is fun! I love entomology :)

I made my own early route bug being a bug dragon type butterfly Pokemon the base stage being based on the dragon head caterpillar, the middle stage being based on the pyrausta chrysalis and the final stage being based on the dragon tail butterfly all of which taking parts of the pyrausta dragon which was a dragon the size of an insect
