I always feel good when you put up a new forecast. And what a geomagnetic storm we had on Tuesday evening. HF was dead. A friend in BC worked a station in Idaho on 2 meters. So many of us had wonderful auraral photos too. I'm worried about Ernesto, a tropical storm forming up to be a hurricane. With such bad propagation, traffic passing will be difficult. Let's hope Ernesto fizzles.

Had a great display of aurorae in SE Australia earlier this week. Visible colour to the naked eye even in the suburb of Melbourne, and probably the second-strongest aurora I have seen relative to the May 11th event. Thankfully the moon has been relatively favourable in both of these solar storms.

Monday the 26th of August at about 18:00 (UTC+2) During my observations, I discovered a solar prominence with a unique morphology, characterized by multiple filaments feeding a central structure. Can you provide a possible explanation for this complex configuration and its long lifetime? The structure was extremely stable and exhibited an unusual morphology. It resembled an inverted tornado fed by between 6-8 filaments. What physical processes can account for these characteristics? Thank you for your time ! Respectfully /The Dobsonian Power Community
