Growing up on a farm with large gardens, we had a seed planter that towed behind the tractor. It planted 6-8 rows at a time. When you are planting acres at a time it makes a difference.

didn't work very good in my opinion. Plant your corn in a space and plant your peas in a space. It was a good experiment but our soil is so poor here that it didn't work very well

Look for a good used Covington planter with a good selection of seed plates. I've bought 3 and kept 1. Other 2 I bought to fix and flip(made a couple of hundred on each). Good used with cultivator sweeps usually goes for around $200.00 to $500.00. New is around $1600.00. The little push planters can be a lot of work: depends on soil conditions.

Great video . Always learning something from you . Didn't know that you made the rows like that at first and then plant on top of the rows . As you can tell I'm not a farmer . LOL .

Careful planting different corn together. One year we planted majority sweet corn and 1 row colored corn. For some reason the color corn took over all the crop. It's hard to mistake color corn seed cuz its colored and sweet corn is pink with the fungicide coating. Old farmer told me the color corn will take over any other corn seed that close. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it.

I’ve got one just like that, it was my dads as well. It works ok if your soil is super friable, if you don’t have a tilther or have good rich friable soil, the earth way Is pretty frustrating, I’ve ditched it in the past in favor of dragging a shallow trench and hand seeding. My market gardner friends speak highly of the jang seeders (works best on smaller seeds). Were I to spend a few hundred bucks I’d get the jang before the hoss.

I have been wanting one for the past couple of years!! I was also late planting the garden, thankfully the growing season is long enough to be forgiving. This seems to be the year for "sister gardening". I'm working on a series of planting corn, beans, and squash together. I'm not sure I'm having any luck with it though. My corn is up, but the beans and squash (I also substituted melons) hasn't sprouted yet. I hope your luck is better! Randy

Does that place the seeds at the final spacing of the plants, or do you have to thin them later? I've never understood why the directions say to plant so close, then thin later. A waste of seed, and extra work.

Corn needs about 45 days to 60 days to grow the beans needs...I forget to grow depending on the species of!!!!!! Do not forget to add the sprinkler system in... also with the pump up the hill from the home area!!!!!!!!! Wow a lot of work!!!!!!!!!!!!

An apology. From one of your recent videos on building a garden I got the impression that you needed guidance. You do not need guidance, from me at least. Active gardeners often have differing approaches to different aspects, usually depending upon the amount of space they have to work with and their end goals for the produce. I fully watched your videos this morning and enjoyed seeing your approach to things. 😎
