A very simple line and wash watercolor of a winter farmhouse.
Unfortunately, I didn't lock the focus on the sketch portion of this video so it tends to "bounce" a bit. Sorry :(

Arches 140lb Hot Press Paper for this Video.
My papers of choice include Arches and Fabriano 140lb Hot press and Cold press paper and Strathmore 500 series Sketchbooks. All are 100% cotton rag.
For beginners, I recommend starting with a high quality paper and experimenting with different types. As your style develops, you'll get a feel for which type is best. Waiting to switch to a better quality paper later will be much like learning to paint all over again.

HI Peter! ARCHES paper if fine but for ys the most expensive one.Canson Montval is my favorite ..If you write the alternatives also it would be great.Thanks.

He shows what he uses! Everyone is different and the alternative is whatever art supplies work for you. That is something you have to try for yourself and experiment with. I would suggest that the alternative for Arches is every paper on the market!….but does it work for you? Try it and see! Have some fun! Nothing is set in stone!
