Interesting concept and idea Ian. Two things I would like to know - 1. What is their quality like? Have you bought anything to do a quality check? 2. If you buy your own items do you pay just their cost plus shipping?
@IanMiddletonPhotographyTravel4 жыл бұрын
Yes I have seen the quality and it's excellent. The Irish embassy in Ljubljana bought a canvas from me and I used FAA to fulfil the order. When it arrived I had a photo taken with the Ambassador next to it and got to see the quality. Other customers have also told me theirs were really good quality and were happy. As I said, they offer a 30 day no quibble money back guarantee so you are covered if something is not up to scratch. Yes you can buy and resell your own items at their cost minus your markup and potential commissions which you would get on other things such as frames etc. So a 16 x 10 inch canvas is £54.69 to me vs £98.30 for the customer. Of course that is my markup. Each photographer can set their own markup.

Everything is working smoothly, even on mobile phone to pixels mobile app. Three sales so far, very smooth and easy. Hi Jeff, thanks a lot for the comments and the sub. Unfortunately it seems that although the setting is there, the way I linked my FB page seems to no longer work, and I see that my FB page no longer has the plugin. I think it has more to do with the changes that FB have made to their pages. As for the photos uploaded to FAA, I upload the original full resolution JPEG in the final aspect ratio I have it in once I've finished editing and processing the image. The larger your file the larger the print you can offer for sale.

Yes, they will print panos and any other format. I have several panos up for sale there. However, the only downside is they limit the file size upload to about 30mb, so in many cases you need to reduce the size or add more compression if it's a huge file.

@IanMiddletonPhotographyTravel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. How you link it will vary depending on how your personal website is setup. I use wordpress with a specific theme, but essentially you need to set a hyperlink to the product page of each image on a button underneath the image on your personal website. I see you have a Wordpress website, so you would need to create a "buy a print" button and set that to link to the product page for that particular photo. So in this scenario, am I the owner of the product itself and FAA is only acting like Printful / Printify, a 3rd party dropshipping company, OR, is FAA still the owner of the goods and I am simply going to receive small artist commissions per design sold?
@IanMiddletonPhotographyTravel2 жыл бұрын
You are the owner of the photo you put up for sale and you set the markup (amount you want to receive) for each photo print size and use on other product types. When someone buys a product, FAA send the photo to the nearest printing company to manufacture the item and send it direct to the customer. You get notified of the sale and get paid the amount you specified for the sale.

Do I need to change my Pixels name to the new Shopify store name? Not sure if I can do this or not. Any suggestions? Alan
@IanMiddletonPhotographyTravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alan. Not sure what you can do with the app, as far as I know there are no tools to integrate FAA with Shopify. If you are going to use FAA for your sales and fulfillment then I don't see why you would need Shopify, unless you plan to sell other things. All you need to do is set links to the dedicated photo page on your personal pixels site from the image on your website, be it shopify or any other website.

How exactly does the discount code work? Will FAA offer the 30 percent off for example and take it from their margin as well as you markup amount. Hi Gerd. Thanks. Actually it was the opposite. I started selling myself and using a printer to fulfil, but it just meant more work and also if I were away from home it was a problem because I needed to access the high res file to send to the printers.
