An Elephant Entrapped in well with mud

This elephant Was Entrapped in this mud well in moragahakanda area,this incident was reported to the wildlife officers by the villagers. A team of wildlife officers visited the place where the Elephant was trapped and they rescued him.

What a poignant scene this has turned out to be. The hapless Elephant fallen in the mud pond is struglling for life and need human help as they are trying to save the animal from the cluches of death. This video comes out with the mamooth saving efforts being carried out by the concerned authorities by trying all means of techniques available to them. Finally their efforts started giving fruitful results. The animal is saved much to the respite of those who were involved in the rescue operation. A fine effort. Thank God !

shame it was man made hole caused problem. why could digger not take one side down so he could walk out and then stop another from falling in. they try to make him go up hill too steep when he exhausted. i think maybe could make that path a little better with digger. but at least he out and safe

The Elephant was trying so hard to latch on to the "bucket." It might have been easier to push him up from behind, as they do in the wild. I wish these wells had safe access and exit for animals. Thank you for rescuing the poor elephant.

These are wildlife officers who have been trained in local environs to save these magnificent beasts. There methods are not something a layman on a dry land in front of a computer/cell can understand. These officers are not trigger happy impatient idiots. They know how the elephant reacts to their ropes and tools and shouts... Finally the elephant will be saved unharmed no matter how long it takes... There were cases these people have given their lives to disoriented escaping elephants in this kind of situations.....

If it's possible animal rescue should keep a water sucking drainer with generator power. So if they can drain the water out it can become more easy to rescue this kind of situation. Anyway they have done a very good job. Now don't start bullying me.

I think the reason the elephant didn’t walk up the path was because of the elephant captures happening around that area for Thailand tourism. They use thick ropes similar to those used here and other elephants to capture wild free roaming elephants. Elephants having immense brains that never forget, remember seeing some of its herd being captured. It’s traumatizing, to the point where even the workers would quit and stop trying to capture them. After capture they go through phajaan/crushing, which is breaking the animals spirit and accept humans as it master.
