Man if you had a stock manifold on a Canfield head it would absolutely kill the motor. Your power band will be needle thin. Also, the newer, bigger throttle body will definitely affect tip in. So your tune will be off with anything around idle. Quick cleanup for sure

Having an Anderson cold air intake do you have to tune that intake? Or can you just put it on and that's it? I know the BBK you just set it and forget it.

You don’t need a tune for the intake.

Does anyone know if you put the Aod 4r70w on a foxbody if you have to change the drive shaft and everything in the back end to make it fit? I don't know much about AOD'S because no 1 wants to have an AOD on foxes. So there's very little to no content on them.

If you have a breather on the valve cover make sure you unhook any vacuum going to that valve cover. I notice you have a line hooked up to the valve cover still, just make sure its capped off or else it will creat a boost and vacuum leak

Everything is venting to the atmosphere. The hose you see it just a vent running under the intake.

@@BREW2LFOXBODY ok cool i didnt wanna see you have an issue again due to that lol. I know ive done it without thinking about it easily looked over. Hope you figure out what the problem is. Do you have an afr gauge in the car? That may help figure out your break up issue. Also i wouldnt personally use a drag radial behind the stick, a slick or bias ply tire will help soften the blow a drag radial puts through the drivetrain.

I hate all the misinformation on foxbodys.i own a 88 and trying to do research on them is ridiculous.ignition is crap.computer is crap.vacuum system and pcv system is crap. Transmission is also crap.got so fed up with mine I put a holley kit on it and throwed away stock harness and computer.lot of complaining but I still like the car.lol.

I just had that problem with breaking up past 5k rpm my turbo fox. Turned out to be 2 problems at the same time! I had put an MSD cap and rotor on and they went to crap fast. I also melted a plug wire to which it started arcing on the header. Put a stock cap and rotor back on and replaced the plug wire and was back in business. Hope you find the problem quick.

Do you mean IAC? Ford Fiesta ones have same bolt pattern. No need for adapter, but different connector. Can get both for maybe $30-40. Frees up an output for Terminator, too.

Depending on what plugs you have, the initial Canfield plug spec starting point was pretty wrong. They were way too far recessed in the chamber. They work, but there is a much better sparkplug that has been discovered. Better cold crank, and ignition timing response etc.

Don't be afraid to tighten up that gap to around .020". I experience blow out anything above .025"

I actually gapped the plugs at .024 this time. I’m we are only running 10-11 lbs on this car. Not saying it couldn’t be blowing the spark out but it was fine before at .026 I feel like something else is the issue. But I’ll start digging into the problem more tonight. It may need a better ignition system

So funny just had this problem on my 92lx. Starting breaking up past 4K. It wasn’t fuel and ended up being a bad Tfi crazy I changed plugs wires cap rotor ignition coil drove me insane good luck with urs

You know better than to not set your TPS and idle speed after pulling your throttle body. You could have put the exact same throttle body back in, and you'd still have to do it. Your breaking up issue could be fuel, spark, or even a weak battery. So many things. If you get these old cars running right, let sleeping dogs lie. Don't touch them. If you do you start all over again.

I got one for you…so my t-bird has never ran great ever since I put the old setup out of my mustang in it….I’ve done everything possible short of swapping the ECU and got it to run okay…..so just by happens chance I found a intake spacer gasket that I put on incorrectly so I pulled the upper intake off and found a pool of fuel inside of it (I got the old school eldebroch with the side cover) ended up being a bad diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator….fixed it and the car runs like a champ!

Could you maybe explain the effects of spark plug gap and how you decide the gap?

Yes. I try to keep the gap as large as possible when I can. Seems to help with idle. But on a boosted car I base the gap off of boost level. We are at 10-11 psi on the red car so I gapped the plugs down to 24-26 ish. But 20-22 would be just fine as well.

I have a box upper and supercharger on my car as well .. what I did was I took another valve cover with an oil filler neck and put it on the driver side and instead of using breathers I capped both sides and ran a 3/8 hose from where the PCV tube went to a catch can to avoid the oil mess on the engine and both valve covers are vented Seems to work very well.. The tall oil fill necks act as a baffle so the catch can doesn’t fill up with oil under boost Love the videos keep it up !!

Had that issue, due to the exhaust reverb, and rattling of the car the 8mm screw holding the switch on the parking brake had loosened up and another time it was change grounding the switch
