There was rumors that Bobby Brown was kidnapped by a crew called Preacher’s Crew. That links back to the Paid In Full story with Rich Porter’s little brother being killed by the same crew. Apparently Bobby owed Clarence Preacher some money so he held him for Ransom until Whitney Houston came to pay them.

I feel like I've watched you become a genuine New Edition fan over the course of these videos. As a hardcore New Edition fan since their Candy Girl days, it is giving me butterflies to literally watch someone become a fan before my very eyes ❤. After over 20 years of trying to see them in concert, and giving up hope after their last breakup, I finally got to see them live a few years ago and you would have thought I was a teenager the way I was screaming 😂.
@cmock8108 ай бұрын
BTW this biopic is about as close as you can get to the accuracy of their story. They really did a great job of telling their story although 3 parts was not enough time to include everything. And so much has happened since the movie that they could EASILY do another movie.
@bigb24948 ай бұрын
To show how much like brothers they really were. While Bobby was recording his solo project, he stood up Babyface who wrote Every Little Step and a few other hits for Bobby and Johny, including My My My. Babyface was ready to leave, but Ralph showed up to the studio and layed down some tracks. He never said a word about, until Bobby spoke on it not too long ago. Babyface cosigned the story later.

The reason why it took them 6 years to make that Home Again album and why tour went down the way it did was that their solo projects blew up huge at that time. Bobby was laying low after the massive success of his 2nd album, "Don't Be Cruel", while Ralph, Johnny and BBD were continuing to blowup with their albums and I can't forget that Bobby had also married Whitney Houston as well. I also remember that appearance they did on Video Soul back in '90, Ralph was still working on his debut album, which wouldn't be released until November of that year, Johnny didn't drop "My My My" just yet, cause he was still riding high off the success of his first single, "Rub You The Right Way", the only thing they got right in that segment was BBD still blowing up with "Poison". You should react to their performance at the 1990 MTV VMAs

Some scenes were exaggerated for dramatic effect e.g. Mike never dissed Ralph like that during the actual interview and I know damn well he wasn't dodging no bullets like that 😅. But for the most part, it is a true story and all the group members were heavily involved in the production of the series.

Great reaction. The funny thing is New Edition's solo efforts at first were all big hits at the time, the biggest being Bobby Brown and after him Bell Biv Defoe. So they were successful as a group and solo artists which not many groups can say that.

You should watch Bobby Brown Story as its a sequel to this series. Other than that i think the real problem with New Edition's dynamic was because the man who could have put them in line was fired and largely absent from their career. When they had no father figure/mentor around they started doing what young teenage boys/young men with money do, mess around fighting arguing and get into trouble.

Welcome to the NE Fan-mily MJ! NE is truly the best group. They are a real family. Ricky and Ralph actually had a double wedding. Ralph is divorced, but Ricky is still married to his wife Amy. Ralph is now the host of the Love and R&B Radio Show. They were all on tour when Whitney died and Bobby was with his brothers and still decided to perform with them. He has recently had a reality show and started the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House to raise awareness about domestic violence. Ronnie and his wife have twin boys(Ronald III and Roman). His wife is Shamari and was a part of the 1990's group Blaque. Johnny still performs and putting out albums. Mike just had a documentary come out and does a lot of events and hosting for basketball events and tournaments. They have been on tour for the past couple of years and they look and sound good. I first saw them in 1985 and about to see them in Vegas for their 1st residency in March. The main difference is that they genuinely look like they're having fun on stage. You can find a lot of YT videos from their 2022 Culture Tour and 2023 Legacy tour.
