The thing I like about BellaChiiii‘s “Shared Memories” short comic is it really blend both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom together when one of Ganondorf’s Calamities managed to peak into her mind as she tries desperately to restrain his powers for the passed 100 years. You can truly feel Link’s pain in this, the facial expressions of his anger boiling up as Ganondorf’s puppet taunts him, and being reluctant to struck her down because his whole journey is about seeing his princess again. I said it before and I will said it again: Ganondorf is one DAMN Gerudo snake when it comes to playing mind games to dominate his opponents psychologically as he use Link’s love for Zelda to nearly beat him.

Zelda is actually did all this cus she is keeping Ganondorf sealed and defeating Zelda actually allows Ganondorf to rise to the surface making the ganondorf more horrorifying instead fighting in a nightmare hole which just a gloomier version of the lab under hyrule castle fight in BOTW as far as setting goes.

I love how Ganondorf literally can't help taunting when he is completely failing. At this point in the game every plan he has tried to keep the other clans has failed unraveled at their source by this lone "pathetic" champion. He must be so scared because nothing is working he knows that this plan with the fake Zelda has ultimately failed as well. The only reason to try so hard to distract Link is because Ganondorf is terrified of what a confrontation with the Champion will mean. If as this suggests he knows everything about Link at this point they he knows that Link is a one man army and there is little chance he will survive their confrontation.

I couldn’t agree more. I do hope in the future we have a game where Gannon tries to break Link like how his broken Zelda. My favorite villains are ones who fight with their words and weapons. If they play their cards right, they could destroy the hero before they have that final fight. It would also be interesting to see how link would combat it. He would probably try to control his anger but if he did snap I feel like it would surprise and maybe even scare Gannon. When someone’s full of rage they give it their all, so it would be a intriguing play out (sorry for the long yapping ima nerd)

If you think about it, Zelda really is all he has left. He barely had any time to mourn his friends before he promptly forgot they existed, had to essentially fight what was left of their spirits and let them sacrifice themselves to not even defeat ganon, but just chase away his demonic aura. Then not even a couple months after all of that, he gets seperated from the one person that truly tues his past to who he is now, again i might add, and Ganon has the gaul to taunt him using her face and voice? He had every right to cut that puppet down

While I'm still unhappy about how TotK retconned Calamity Ganon, I like this comic's interpretation that the Phantom Ganon posing as Zelda is Calamity Ganon himself. Definitely adds a deeper layer to facing off against Phantom Ganon in the Hyrule Castle throne room.

@@Iamtheultra-nerd Basically, BotW heavily implied that Calamity Ganon was the same Ganon(dorf) from previous games: an enduring evil that had Hyrule trapped in a cycle of reincarnation for hundreds of thousands of years. When Urbosa says the Calamity once took the form of a Gerudo king, it was clearly a reference to Ocarina of Time. Sure, Ganondorf was always evil, but Wind Waker at least showed he once had some humanity. This added a layer of horror and tragedy to seeing the once proud and dignified Ganondorf being reduced to a misshapen monster of hatred and malice, with only a rotting skull and a red mane of hair as the last remnants of his original human self. It was a grim reminder of what could happen to any man cursed to come back lifetime after lifetime after lifetime and lose every single time. Then TotK comes along and says: Nah, Calamity Ganon is really just a mindless phantom of the real Demon King Ganondorf, who is the Gerudo king that Urbosa was talking about and isn't actually the same character from the previous games. It took away the element that made Calamity Ganon so grotesque and horrifying but also tragic. There's nothing special about it anymore.

I would do it even if I see "her", and That's for the following reason: Link has the Master Sword in this, so he very well knows about Zelda's Fate of Dragonification, thereby he knows this Zelda is already a fake. If I was him I would attack anyways, not with irrational rage and storming towards her, but by simply walking towards my foe to make it become afraid of me, a threat comming closer, aware of anything my enemy might throw at me, every attack and every trick wont let me bother, and the most important part: Silent anger is the worst anger... like shown in a quote from Doctor Who (from the Episode Family of Blood): "He never raised his voice, this was the worst part from the fury of the Timelord" I recoment watch this full scene to see what I mean by that.

1:14 one thing I would like to add here. I wouldn’t say Gannon took everything away from Link. Yes he was one of the causes but I would say Hylia was a big reason why Link lost what he lost. I mean, if she was to just do her job not being back the same two people to do it for her, I have a feeling they wouldn’t be in this position. Also, Hylia didn’t do crap in either tears or wild. Yes she gives health and stamina upgrades but the thing is, she’s not giving them to Link she’s helping him recover them. Link already had that strength but lost it after getting badly hurt, almost to the point of death and even to death itself (correct me if I’m wrong and yes I know about the Zelda being the reincarnation of Hylia theory, but we talk to Hylia through the states in tears and wild so it doesn’t make sense)

sad part is they could've written it even in this context and given more depth to what had happened and how Ganon feels. Yet the cutscene feels just so fast and just trying to "intimidate" him by saying memories of what the castle looked like and how it was. Like boi he doesn't care about the castle. Ganon couldn't even manipulate right lol or in this case writers couldn't damn well near write good enough. I'm tired of writers trying so damn hard to "Play it safe". Like dude, the ability you could have over someone since in that moment they could've had this happen, have him do the sequence, and when trying to attack back yet holding back because it's the form of zelda and have him at his weakest point emotionally, and then try to attack to where the other's come in and help out. There's so many writing problems in TOTK because they were trying so hard as it seemed to play it safe for the future while writing at least went to Rauru's dark past. It's like they gave Rauru the best scripts while not even bothering for Link or Zelda having risk factors and actual emotional takes. That could've been played out perfectly. Shame really you'd think Japan out of every other nation would write one of the best stories. but I know at the end of the day they don't realllly care, they just want well....money lol that's why I've been losing respect over their games lately. No heart, no soul, no passion hardly anything, no risks. In past games there was even sacrifices. Never seeing Midna again, saying goodbye to Navi and even your own childhood since it shows that the damage was already done, and then venturing out on your own and seeing literal character's die around you as you try to live up to their legend for them while living in obscurity forever of your own deeds, having the king drown himself with the rest of what was hyrule leaving toon link a bit emotional because he was looked at as a father figure and having to say goodbye to him and not just him but his family as well as he sets out to help form a new land of Hyrule. As his sister watches on probably knowing they may never see each other again. there were risks, there were give and takes, there were sacrifices...the only real sacrifice in TOTK was Rauru's. It felt more like HIS story then Links and Zelda's. That you were doing this in the end, for him and the sake of his mistakes. But no give or take. you get your arm back, you get zelda back, everything is fine and dandy, nothing is sacrificed. only thing I guess sacrificed is Zelda now being canonically over 10k years old. But not that it effected her since she still came back with her youth anyway. it felt bland, it felt like there was no real take from it. their stories have become too safe. and most don't even want to play the game a second time around. no lie I bought this game about a month ago, haven't beaten it yet, and every time i try to go back into it, I just have no desire to keep playing. that's not a good game if I don't want to play hell lately I've been wanting to play OLDER Zelda games.... as someone in my feed on Minds said it's like they tried to make an open world MMO RPG like every other one, and then slap on Zelda as a title because recognizable character's and that's exactly what they did.
