I'm a military wife myself, and watching this doesn't make me sad. It makes me happy that she got her husband back. You don't "leave the spark of sadness behind" when your spouse is away from you. You miss them every day. You hate that they miss so much of their children's lives. But you are proud of them for what they do. Don't fault Ellen for giving one of her fans such a special reunion with her husband.

it is so heart warming to see veterans appreciated for their service to their country and their sacrifices they have to go through, as a marine veteran of vietnam, we were not appreciated as the soldiers are today, bravo to all our military service veterans and all that are in the military of all branches -- my hat is off to you, I greatly appreciate all that you do for our country, abroad and at home -- THANK YOU

Their daughter is a cutie and she looks so very much like her daddy! My son is about to join the military and it breaks my heart. I'm going to miss him so much! He just turned 18 yesterday and when I think of how he won't be here in our home this time next year or even likely just months from now he'll be gone, it kills me. Ellen I have to admit I was raised by bigots and I was one for years and then I started watching you on KZbin and you have changed my way of thinking you're kindness and generosity has made an impact on me I have given most of what I've ever had away for years to make others happy and to help them in their lives and I have lost a lot of people in my life because of my generosity and I'm just about homeless and my health is failing but I would rather do with our then to see others in despair I have been taking great care of my girlfriend and her family in the Philippines for almost 4 years now and now I unfortunately am starting to let them down because I am unable to make a living for them but you give me hope for the world and knowing that kindness comes from all walks of life I just wish I could do more I plan to leave this world the same way I came in with nothing I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you you make me want to be a better person and now I see others in a different light I thought just because I helped others in my life I was a good person but from the very I used to think and was taught to think I now know that I wasn't at all so thanks so much for changing the way I used to see others.
