Kd4 instead of Kd5 allows the draw : Bd6-b8

Wow, I saw the pawn fork in the first time 😮

1:13 wouldn’t Kd4 also work because you cover both squares that the bishop could go to stop the pawn?
@ateskorel2826Ай бұрын
I was thinking that but it may not work after 1. Kd4, Bd2 2. a6, be1 3. a7, bf2 skewer. Or the bishop could go another way (since it gained a tempo) and go to f4 and then b8. Even though I think it would still be wining for white since the white king can catch the bishop (e.g. instead of a7 doing Ke3 for 1st scenario or going all the way up to the top left corner to shoo the bishop away), the pawn sacrifice might simply be more efficient.

Yea Ke3 stops it all so Kd4 does in fact work

@@5gearz if Kd4 there is Bf4

@@RealKayd3nYT but after a6, Bb8 you can just run your king to attack the bishop then when bishop moves you can promote the pawn
