Hi Ed! Good to see you behind the wheel again to share in your driving pleasure, albeit understandably with a commercial edge. I am so glad that you are back to stability/security and I look forward to the return of your reviews and weekly motoring treats that have been lacking while you sorted things. It's like finding a £10 note in pair of trouser not used for while! Joyous! If I could afford more than a wheel I would love the Moggie as they were part of early driving experience, lively, solid and enjoyable, and sad that I can't buy it from Manor. One of the best simplest cars ever made ! Easy to work on ! So reliable ! You can replace just about anything on it easily ! In the early seventies you could buy them cheap and drive them until they fell apart !

This Morris Minor brings back memories, my first car was a second hand 1956 Morris Minor in 1963 i paid 250.00 pounds Au back then. 1st and 2nd gear were very low gears for our Australian conditions, it was a good car for my 1st purchase 👍 Au

I loved the "farting" noise their exhausts made, on the over-run, and how they were always driven by vicars or teachers! Would be great to buy a restored one, if I had the room.

Driven this car. One can see the road when we step on the clutch or brake. Need more ventilations just open front quarter glass.

Its strange that eith "the dawn of mondern cars" with the Minor, then in 1960s with mini a complete change again with FWD & E/W engines. How could BMC ever have handed that advantage away. Typical of Britain, in that era, aircraft & car design others too, Britain has gone to the dogs courtesy of small thinking Governments with huge barcassustic egos along with their Civil Service who have undermined everything British over 40 years!

Sorry to rain on your parade, mate, since you like the CHARACTER of these! But I personally think it, ànd other related BMC cars, are "one step forward, one step backwards! YES, it has independent front suspension. And although having an AXLE at the rear is sometimes NOT uncomfortable (if it's well located!) , what is NOT acceptable, is the (so - called) "Quarter Eliptic" springing. WHY Quarter Eliptic? The leaf springs are neither eliptic, half eliptic, or anything but FLAT. T resulting effect is the cars fitted with these springs (including Morris Oxfords) have a bouncing jiggly sort of ride at the back - even without going over any bumps! This ruined so many of their cars. When the Morris Marina came out, it had normal semi eliptic springs AND A PROPER RIDE!
