Lovely trip but it's only bikepacking if you have bags attached to your bike with camping. I am going for a 3 day trip next week and staying in hotels so I am carrying little so I don't even consider that trip bikepacking. Regards from a proud caveman

Leonard, this is not bike packing! It is luxury cycle touring. And I was so looking forward to seeing what U Lite tent you would be using as well as any other gear. But as usual, a great video, camera work and narrative. Keep them coming.

Leonard, first off may I say how much I enjoy your channel. Having said that however I must take exception to your latest vlog. You say you're bike packing, but you're not! If you are not carrying all your stuff on your bike then you are in fact just doing a series of day rides, the clues in the name! That being said great vid, keep up the good work.

@2cats4tea79Ай бұрын
Here (US), if you are staying in hotels (but usually still carrying your stuff on your bike), we call it "credit card touring," not in a derogatory way, but to differentiate it from the standard idea of bikepacking, which is carrying all your stuff and doing at least some camping.
@Vince1648Ай бұрын
@@2cats4tea79 I see bikepacking as a 'light' version of true biketravellers. Bikepackers mostly use light gravelbikes, carry only a minumum of gear, go only for a couple of days /1 week max) might camp out but prefer to stay in hotels. True bike travellers use a strong and sturdy bike with both back and front panniers, go (wild) camping as much as possible and their trips are a lot longer, from a few weeks to a few months and sometimes a year or longer.

Great video. Have you ever ridden the Camino Frances? I walked it between April - June this year (thanks to long service leave - didn't need to hurry). Amazed at how many people cycle it too. Walked all the way from St Jean Pied de Port to Finsterre and eventually Muxia (approx 1,000km all up). Because of this experience, I bought myself a used road bike when I returned to Australia and am loving every moment. I am on the cusp of starting cycle touring. Thanks for your inspirational channel. Cheers, Gavin

I like to do trips like this so much, that I do it for 3-4 weeks in a row. I also have the luggage on the bike and without a group, I can decide about the route and where to go each day according to weather and how I feel. Distances are like yours, 50-80km on a typical day. I think it's much more satisfying to ride from place to place than in circles or up to a mountain and back.

Love your stuff, but that isn’t Bikepacking to me anyway Nice place but Bike… yeah, packing erm … none It’s just a series of shorter supported day rides surely ? Can’t see any “Bikepacking gear” on any of the bikes Now the “not cavemen” tbh is a bit of an insult to those who do like cycling and camping without prescribed shipping of gear between set locations I.e that’d be me for one The whole point of it is that to some, that’s actually exactly what it is about. Sorry to have a go about it but tbh, I personally (I stress that) think the tone of the Caveman thing is fine for you but if you’d said I was a caveman to my face, you’d have had a very direct response regarding whatever this is. Each to his own … but as far as I’m concerned you just called me and those who actually do Bikepacking Cavemen. Whilst you may be in some way correct for me, who are you to say that You may have some nice road bike mates and a big following but that’s just Trumpian in the level of tone deaf Ps, hope the guy who crashed is ok though
