Rapha puts on these special events called Prestige rides. There once a year and located in some of the craziest places on earth. This once was in the Arkansa Ozarks and OH MY IT WAS AMAZING!
Endless gravel roads made for this cycling adventure to be the best bike trip I have ever taken. Riding gravel bikes on gravel roads with gravel people and gravel gravel gravel, is that good youtube? Will you recommend my gravel ride video to people who like Rapha clothing and gravel bikes and thin mustaches and flavored soda water that tastes like nothing? Thanks, that would be sweet.
How it works is you have a 4 man team and there is a staggered start so everyone doesnt start at once. The route is announced the night before and there really isnt any support. So there is some navigation aspects to it as well.
Allied cycle works got me dialed in on the best gravel bike I have ever ridden. Just for the weekend though, I didnt get to keep it. We rode around the town on Friday and then the big day on Saturday and then a tour of Walmart on Sunday.
I want to go back so bad, this part of the world was insane! A HUGE thank you ZACHARY PIÑA! This dude made this happen!
Also, I havent posted a video in a while because I have been hyper focused on work and family. 2019 is gonna be big for cycling and I need to put in the time with the day job and fam to allow for me to accomplish what I want to do in 2019.

Making my way through your archive which I love. Your cultish comments about Bentonville were so accurate even 5 years ago, and now it's even more enhanced. I was born and raised in a town just south. From birth to age 32ish, I had no reason to ever visit that town until the Walton brothers started pumping money into the town to enhance the cycling infrastructure, bars, restaurants and museums. It's like a really cool town just sprang up in a decade, and they are not stopping any time soon. I utilize their facilities all the time, but I prefer living in Fayetteville which has a more organic business community, and more of a locals vibe. We still definitely benefit from being close to Bentonville as the charitable arms of Waltons donate millions for a variety of public projects all over the region. The main negatives of such rapid growth has been affordable housing is non-existent, and everything is an AirBnB. The cycling tourism is pretty amazing in the area, but that has also led to really crowded trails and a race every weekend.

The Ozarks in rural Arkansas is low key one of my favorite places to cycle. The drivers are surprisingly courteous. I suspect it is because they are used to farm equipment and atvs along the roads.

NWA is dope. It’s not fake, but I can see how you’d think that lol 🤣 Walmart puts A LOT of money in the community. The trails have gotten a lot better recently too, and that cute little town was Eureka Spring btw, which wasn’t built on Walmart money.

Maaan, respect for staying positive, I would have been gutted to lose the go pro but end a 122 mile ride when you've burned thousands of calories and not to even have some fries, or veggies or salads or anything to eat would have been the catalyst for me losing it.

I just moved here because of the cycling industry. A year ago I felt the same vibes of the cultish feel but has shed off about now with a better complete feel. Hope they continue to add to the greenway. As a roadie and a gravel enthusiast it is definitely scenic in these parts compared to Oklahoma where I am from.

You should really see if you could work out how to do the "Assault on Mount Mitchell" in May in North Carolina. That's an episode everybody would love to see. You can join George Hincapie, and NASCAR legends Jimmy Johnson, Jamie McMurray, Matt kenseth and others on an epic ride. The full ride to the summit of Mount Mitchell is 102 miles and gains over 10,500 ft.

NW Arkansas has really blown up for cycling over the last several years. I have family down there that rides, mountain and gravel regularly. For such a relatively poor socioeconomic state, it truly is beautiful. Except in the summer when it's 110 with 90% humidity... keep up the good work!

Great video, as always. The scenery on that ride reminded me sooo much of where I used to ride on summer vacations growing up in Sutton, Quebec. The rolling hills and greenery, not to mention the smell of nature! This video really made me homesick missing those rides with my sisters, cousins, and uncle. Thanks for bringing back those cherished memories for me. I’ll be thinking of that scenery as I ride in tonight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 🤙🏻

I am not originally from NWA and really did not want to move here but fate brought me here and now that I live here I love it. It is a great place to live and this area is just BOOMING. The bike scene is unreal here. Yes, Wal-Mart can get a little freakish with itself; we just let them have their time and space and we enjoy the benefits. There is also JB Hunt and Tyson's here as well. Vegan is a new concept here as people love their meat here but it is starting to catch on though. Hope you come back sometime to check out more of what this area has in both mountain bike riding and some good road biking with the Joe Martin stage race being awesome!
