An EPIC Yellowstone Itinerary (3 or 4 Days)

Need help planning your Yellowstone itinerary? We're pretty happy with the way ours turned out this year and want to share it with you!
Our epic Yellowstone itinerary was spread out over four days (two full and two half) because some of our group had to work on a few of the days (#digitalnomadlife). You could definitely pack it all into three days if you're just out there on vacation.
We managed to cover most of the big-ticket items in the first-ever national park, including Old Faithful Geyser, Grand Prismatic Spring, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and Mammoth Hot Springs. In addition, we hit a few of the lesser-known trails to escape the crowds.
For this trip, we stayed in different Airbnbs in towns just outside of the park (Island Park, ID, Livingston, MT, and Victor, ID). There are also hotels and campgrounds in the park. Just make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment!

Thanks for the feedback. We have been meaning to write a blog post with all the details but we've been really busy as I got a new full-time job. We stayed in three Airbnbs on this trip - one in Island Park, Idaho; one in Livingston, Montana; and one in Victor, Idaho. We did a lot of long days in the park and had some more leisurely days in between with local hikes, visiting the towns, etc. Hope that helps! Your trip looks like exactly what our family may need…we have 3 maybe 4 days to spend visiting Yellowstone this summer. Would you be willing to share your itinerary if you put it down to paper? Also curious where you stayed overnight as you prepared for the next day. We’ve never been out there before so our struggle is where to begin the planning process.

Thanks for the comment! We have been meaning to write a blog post about our trip, so thanks for the reminder. We stayed in Island Park to visit West Yellowstone, then stayed near Livingston for the north part. We drove through the park to check out other areas as we went to the last stop of Victor and did Grand Teton NP from there. We had Airbnbs in all three towns as we had a big group and my mom is not into camping at all 😂... hope that helps! I'll post the link to the blog post here when we have it ready. Hopefully soon!
