Hey I sent in my application got a price offer then submitted my video task but have not heard anything back yet after the two weeks I tried contacting “support or the Twenix team “ and they told me I will receive an email if I “got it or not.” It’s been about 2 months now and haven’t heard back. Not sure what I should do? I was thinking I resend my application under a new name and also redo the demo lesson but not sure if that’s a good idea? Maybe my they are still considering me and re applying could have a negative effect on my first application. Any tips would be helpful. 🙏🏽😄

Hey Rachel! Quick Question - do you have to let Twenix know when you've changed locations? Then does your pay rate change? Thx
@gratefulgnomads2 ай бұрын
Hi! This is an interesting question - I actually don't know the answer. I think it depends on the situation. If it's a permanent move, maybe? But I'm a digital nomad, for example, and change locations often. It would be way too much effort to let Twenix know every time. If it's in the interest of earning more, I think a better solution would be to teach more classes because that's another way to increase your earnings. I hope this helps! Sorry I don't know the exact answer.

Great videos. I guess that the hourly rate from all these platforms for teaching English don't include your time planning the lessons and in some cases grading the students?
@gratefulgnomadsАй бұрын
Thanks so much! These platforms let you set your own rate so you can, and should, factor in planning and grading time. Let me know if you have other questions :)

Hello im new to your channel and really the whole digital nomad teaching esl. Im black African American and hope it wont hinder my chances. I also just got my TEFL certification. I was wondering how to teach demo lessons. Also is the income enough to save and travel for one person without a BA degree. I would be staying in countries like Thialand for the cheaper living.
@gratefulgnomadsАй бұрын
Hello and welcome! Your race won't hinder your chances and if you come across a platform that discriminates, that's not a platform you wanna be teaching on anyway. Congrats on getting your TEFL! When it comes to demo lessons the best approach is to follow their instructions very carefully and let your personality really show. I think it's very possible to save and travel in countries with a lower cost of living. I have a free eBook that goes into more detail. Here's a link if you're interested: bit.ly/travelingteacherebook Let me know if you have other questions!

They only offer $6 per hour
@gratefulgnomads3 ай бұрын
Hey there! The pay is per class and based on your country of residency. So if you were offered $6 it was more likely $6 per class, and each class is $26 minutes so that's actually $12 per hour if you have back-to-back classes.
@KARWUAY3 ай бұрын
@@gratefulgnomads hi, thanks for your response but they're offering 3 for 26 minutos of classes 🫠
@brettH77162 ай бұрын
@@gratefulgnomads $12 per hour is slave wages if you live in a Western country. That's only AUD$17.99. Teenagers working in McDonald's get paid more than that per hour here in Australia. The minimum wage here is AUD$24.10 per hour, and that's for no experience. Personally, I think these online ESL companies are rorting gullible 'teachers', undermining the entire industry. Unfortunately too many folk flock to these rorters, thinking it's easy money. It's a race to the bottom!

Hi Rachael, great video! May I ask if taking a basic (cheap $350) TEFL course is going to be enough to prepare me for teaching ESL online somewhere like Cambly ... for someone like me with absolutely zero prior teaching experience?
@gratefulgnomads5 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words! When it comes to TEFL courses, it's less about the price and more about the number of hours. You also want to make sure the course is accredited and provided by a reputable company. I recommend BridgeTEFL because they tick all the boxes. I got my TEFL certificate through them. I've taken many of their courses and became an affiliate because of how high quality their products are. I'm even the instructor and coach for one of their programs called The Teacherpreneur Academy. This link will take you to their homepage so you can check out all their courses: bit.ly/BridgeTEFLhome and you can use the code grateful10 to get 10% off! I hope this helps!
