I wrote to Derek recently and he was kind enough to send me some signed stuff. Lovely guy.

Great to see Simon as sharp as he's allways been. Though this was recorded a few years ago? Great stories all the way through.

Met Derek briefly at Autosport many years ago as he was heading for the airport to go home,he still gave me a few moments of his valuable time despite his obvious rush,great guy and very nice man to speak too 👍

Fascinating,a brilliant conversation highlighting what an underrated legend Derek Warwick is,the expertise ,skill and commitment he bought to motorsport. The ongoing input will hopefully leave a legacy for all to enjoy.

I have seen Derek's grief pour out in a previous interview. It's a shame that not everyone has the confidence to openly show their emotion. 100% human, which is lovely to see. Also, the fact that so many motorsport people were in the audience shows how well respected Derek is. I enjoy my track days and had no idea that I was safer for it thanks to the efforts of Derek and others.

What a guy! We met Derek on the RAC Rally in 1990 at a petrol station somewhere in Northumberland, called him over to sign some some pictures we’d taken of him at the Belgian Grand Prix a few months previously. He was friendly, funny, enthusiastic joking with us, an absolute pleasure to meet and something I’ll never forget. What he went through with Paul just a few months later is just impossible to imagine, to then come back and be as successful as he has been, not just in racing but his life, is an incredible testimony to his fortitude and character. Derek truly is loved, a great bloke indeed!

Wow , what a moving talk - I knew nothing about the tragic loss of his Brother, Paul. Such an achievement to carry on racing and what a lovely guy and underrated driver

'Uncle Stan' was my grandad, I was part of the 'secret family' Derek mentioned in his book (i've only read the extracts). He mentions Stans Son Michael passed away and he was never the same but some of the detail is incorrect surrounding it. Grandad stan was a proper man, taught me the proper way to handshake and the meaning behind it. He took care of my mum bless him and did what he could for us kids. Lovely man and a genuine role model, including his naughtiness. Derek shares similarities when he talks so it's nice to see. Even though i'm not part of that side of the family, I respect what they accomplished together.

I can’t stand this man for what he did in Abu Dhabi 2021. This man is a proper racist. I followed him in the 80’s as a British F1 fan but his mask slipped. He is a disgrace to F1 and to Britain.

Obviously, because you can’t stand Derek Warwick you didn’t waste your time watching the interview. If you had watched the interview you would have learnt that Derek Warwick is one of Lewis Hamilton’s biggest fans.
@mrorangepeel6592 ай бұрын
@@bhgp1976 I did watch but then why did he not correct the mess that Michael Masi created which has lingered and damaged F1 for years now. Why did he call Max “The great white hope”. Only racists say things like that.
