These rappers these have ego trips. They don't dap it up too selfish we killing our our musicians or our people most of us don't teach and don't come together . I wish hip hop now was like the golden era of hip hop. I wonder about the future of hip hop

Rakim spoke on that in this interview. Back in the late 80s nothing but love between all those artists until they get in the studio and get more competitive

Could not agree more @Dee Fair. There are too few of us for us to constantly beef with one another. The uniqueness of the Black man's struggle can only be understood by another Black man, but Charlie would rather we believe that another Black man should be our mortal enemy.

The main reason dude's today can't/don't respect one another the way Chuck and Rakim do/will, is because they don't/won't respect themselves, plain 'n simple...

Yeah, but chuck knows how to big people up like he did. Only because Rakim's book was the focus. Rakim wasn't around in the late 70s and early '80s'. His Album came out '87. That's about 8-10 years of the movement passed.

He introduced concepts and topics in Hip Hop such as esoteric Gnostic knowledge (Freemasonry, Cosmic Thought, Egyptology). Rakim's parents were also both musicians and part of the late 60s/early 70s Progressive Jazz movement fusing jazz, bebop, funk, rock, classical, punk and found sounds (early sampling?) So that was a factor and influence as well. Rakim is Hip Hop Perfected

@@TstanDa-ManI know Nas & Scarface both was after them but Nas still my 🐐. Nas & Scarface both Rushmores as well so I put them in the Rushmore list with them..Nas was Deeper & can talk about alot more than Pac & Biggie & have the Advanced Sharp Complexed Vocab, Wordplay & Rhyming Lyrical Skills to go along with his subject/ Topics. Biggie even admitted that in his 95 source awards interview. I cant say nas didnt sell like them cause Nas 2nd album It Was Written in 96 went 2x platinum in 2 months & was # 1 Album 4x consecutive weeks. Nas was the hottest emcee summer 96. Pac even was even inspired by that album & the track I gave you Power which is why he did Me & My Girlfriend. Keep in mind Nas , Biggie blew up after 1 or 2 albums. Pac most commercial sales & success wasn't until his 4th album All Eyez On Me. 2pacalypse now & Strictly 4 my niggaz didnt sell much when first released.
