So a lot of people have been asking what I think about the recent updates to Killing Floor 2 which added paid DLC. Obviously that section of this video didn't age well. Now that I've had a chance to experience the new DLC weapons, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I was fine with the prospect of adding paid weapon packs, but I was expecting a lot more. It's way too expensive for just a couple guns. Hopefully future packs will have more content in them. But regardless, I still think Killing Floor 2 is a phenomal game, and I would continue to recommend it.
@fireblast1334 жыл бұрын
On the bright side the keep area secure objective doesn’t feel like a death trap anymore. Kill x number of zeds while standing inside instead of preventing them from entering. Oh, and the weapon dlcs are shared content. Meaning one person in your party has them, everyone can use them.

One thing you didn't mention about the gore is all the blood on the ground, walls and ceiling is permanent thanks to splatter maps which is also why it may not appear in custom maps or just look really weird like you kill a Clot and suddenly there is a bloodstain the size of a football pitch on the ground. Also you can configure some aspects of it in the games config file. I've increased the corpse limit to around 250 which my systems seems able to handle fairly well even with FLEX all the way on.... until someone throws a grenade at a pile of corpses but it's still worth the spectacle.
@clu_snake6 жыл бұрын
Yeah as soon as I uploaded the video I realized I forgot to mention splatter maps, one of the most important parts of the whole gore system. Honestly I've been considering making a follow up video talking about some of the smaller details I didn't mention in this video, since there are quite a few.

One of the things I love about Killing Floor 2, is the stumble mechanic. Each stumble is different from the others and one type of Zed might have 2 or 3 stumbles for each being shot in the legs, body, arms or even head. Which also adds to the fact that each zed has different heights, body builds, stances and how the react to gunfire. Some like the Bloat or Gorefiend will put their weapons in front of their face in an attempt to block your shots. Meanwhile others do combat rolls or quick side steps. Plus each attack they throw at you is different. Some leave large openings and move relatively slow. Meanwhile others leave very little openings during their attacks... and well, some even do flips.

Yeah no this video nails it. Although, I feel that you forgot to mention the dynamic environments across the different maps. The way blood splatters persist, how chairs and desks get knocked over, how lights can get shot out making everything dark, and even how on Burning Paris you can actually shoot chunks of stone out from the pillars underground. Just comparing a map from the start of a game to the end of it is enough to see the extent of the carnage that took place there. Also, I sent this video to a friend, and his first question was 'Is that a Priest?' I replied 'With dual pistols'

Dear clu, Though you're not wrong per se, I feel like you haven't covered enough about the game. Everything you said about the gameplay is true. It's gory, violent and popping a ZEDs head off is just so satisfying. Just listen to that _crunch_ ! However, there are many aspects that you have missed: While the gameplay of KF2 is amazing the tough part is getting to it. The game boots up slow and is *very* prone to crashing when you switch between appilications. It's so frail lauching up that even trying to skip the intro cinematics when your PC isn't fully focused on the game results in a crash. And I'm not the only experiencing this. Playing with friends is always fun but all the more problematic in KF2. I believe Matchmaking is a terrible mechanic regardless of game and Killing Floor seems to be no exception. On your lonesome it works as advertised: You pick your settings, select what you want to do and wait for not even 5 minutes. But with only one friend more and only a slight difference in levels, you may wait until Half-Life 3 comes out. You want to play with a level 10 friend on Hell on Earth difficulty in a standard survival settings? Nope, not gonna happen. Because the game won't even tell you that they can't access it until they level up. Now, while I do acknowledge the server browser and its superiority there is one option it doesn't have over MM: Friends only. Perhaps the game was on sale or you gifted it to someone to share the bloody fun. Well, if you want to teach them and go a bit slower than with strangers online in your party, setting it to friends only seems like a logical choice, right? _WELCOME TO JAPAN_ - Killing Floor 2 Yes, the game actually puts me, as a middle european player alongsider another middle european player, on a japanese game server with 300+ ping just so it found a matching server with a "friends only" setting. Even though I dislike the term *this* is what makes games "literally unplayable". Also, why don't we have more british characters? It's what I so loved about the first installment, being able to call not only ZEDs but also other players various insults including "tosspot", "bugger" and "tosser". And not to forget: *I AM WELDIN DIS DOAR* For anyone who's still reading up to this point, thank you as I truly believe this is something the developers need to be made aware of. Lastly, thank you clu for showing what the game is like and hopefully getting more people into it.
@maxwellsterling4 жыл бұрын
I was curious about how many people actually reviewed this game, and kinda just picked yours randomly. Honestly? I'm pretty glad I did. You have the flow I miss so much in certain reviews, where usually the pacing is something that makes me feel like I'm a child needing to very slowly digest all the three paragraphs of information the video has. That is not to say I don't appreciate long reviews, since I actually watched Tehsnakerer's movie-length review on Watch_Dogs and enjoyed it, but it's very, very refreshing to see someone not taking twenty seconds on audioless text intros for each part of the video and speaking at a speed that gives the viewer idea that they're actually hearing someone physically tell them about the game, instead of someone making a presentation that is idiotproof. Also, your voice itself is very likeable, so there's that.

I'm sure someone already said this but, I'm surprised you didn't talk about the reload animations. Especially since you main gunslinger! But every gun in the game as at least two animations for when you press the reload button while the gun is full. It's a god send for people who reload after one shot. It just feels so good to have the gun do something when I hit reload no matter what. Heck in some other I'll fire off one shot just to be able to reload

KillerPie92 I actually had an entire segment of the video about the reload animations but I ended up cutting it out. As amazing as the reloads are, it felt like that segment dragged on a bit. I've been planning on making a follow up video about the game's finer details, and I will certainly include the reloads in it
