The Quadrant ability at 19:41 sounds extremely useful. You start turn 1 with 2 more dice, and if you don’t use them you keep them next turn so there’s no downside. You could use it to get way more damage off

I had it as random treasure at the start of the game on my pilot. It was really hard balancing the dice usage 😅

I love this game! By the way, Power and Strength are two different mechanics. Power gives Strength (equal to the amount of Power) to gun(s) affected at the start of a turn and it stays till the end of the fight. It also requires you to load an energy to get the effect - there are ways to circumvent that though(and always having Power as Strength active). Strength only stays for the current turn. The self destruction unit would have done nothing for you, since you had no Power in your setup. As example, in one of my latest runs I doubled one gun up to have over 50 Power with said device. Both Strength and Power can be scaled on their own, but they also can work very well in tandem.

I would probably call it a "Dice Builder". There have been a few of them in recent memory. Usually they are rolled in with Roguelites and Deckbuilders, but I am beginning to think they might be their own genre. This one closest resembles Dicey Dungeons. Your 9 hull slots and weight limit are your equipment inventory. 8:02 I think it is called a "Beam Struggle". Because they are struggling against each other. With energy beams. But here it is called "Stream Struggle". 18:15 Okay, Deidara.

This game is insane - 3 weeks to clear lvl 8 difficulty with all pilots, 30-90 min per run. Build variativity is insane. Shielder and Swapper ships have different unit roster, and different feeling. Pilots with their custom perks - VERY often that can do crazy combo. Bosses and enemies variety - every one has unique twist with unique arsenal, i was shoked by insane dev fantasy. Game already has big amount of content. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I jumped into this game when it launched and love it, the only thing I really want now is more varied ship layouts, for example wide ships or long ships or other shapes, similar to the enemies you go up against. Would help vary up the different builds you put together.

There is a pilot whose ability is to give you a 4x3 mega ship and it's amazing. I had a build where I could beat the final boss without manually loading energy.

Been playing this on the Steam Deck (which works great, btw). Yeah, it could use more ships but it has a ton of pilot unlocks, who then have subtraits that are randomised and also unlockable. So a good amount of content to for an EA game. Text can be a bit small on the SD though.

Note that there isn't really much in common with FTL apart from the ship on ship combat. All weapon types are effectively the same (no flak or missiles) and there isn't the hectic room to room management

They all have fixed names. Game is made by a bunch of chinese, for whom the word Dong seems like a normal name. They don't seem to have a native speaker on the team given the amount of spelling mistakes in the flavor events, so nobody was there to tell them how DickDick would be taken by a western audience.

You are wasting energy on a lane that is taking just 1 damage anyway because of metal coating, you could have used the energy elsewhere like main ingredient and leftover pieces or other tripower unit to prepare it for next turn. Its just a feedback, i am not mad. I like this video!
