If l can’t play as fast as the music required in audition , what is more important? Slower but very articulation or fast but not too clear ?(for IV movement)

The committee would much appreciate you taking the time for it to be a little under the actual tempo (but still aim to be relatively close) and have it be clear than they would at tempo, but sloppy

Always aim for clarity and style, and of course as close to the ideal tempo as possible. The best way to practice getting music like this up to tempo while maintaining articulation is through patient, intentional, slow practice, working it up incrementally. Good luck!

Is bowing critical on auditions? If they don't send me scores, can I play bowing on my own choice?
@AudreyWrightViolin3 жыл бұрын
If you don’t have access to a particular orchestra’s bowings, definitely feel free to use your own, but make sure they are always in the service of whatever the print bowings are (ie. when breaking up long slurs)!
