The symbol has been used by some groups all over the world and has much longer history that just that German Nazism period. Swastika has been used also in Finland before and independently of Nazism. Nepali is close to the areas which might have the oldest evidence of the use of the symbol. Some of the earliest archaeological evidence of the swastika in the Indian subcontinent can be dated to 3,000 BCE. The investigators put forth the hypothesis that the swastika moved westward from India to Finland, Scandinavia, the Scottish Highlands and other parts of Europe.

Yes, true. In the Vedic scriptures, the Swastika dates back to the Vedic ages about 5000 years ago. For us Swastika means prosperity and well being.

Suomen ilmavoimien yhteydessä sen symboliikkaa perustu ehkä suorimmin tähän: Kansainliiton Vilnan komissio valitsi hakaristin rauhan symbolikseen 1920-luvulla. Seuraavalla vuosikymmenellä sen ottivat käyttöön kansallisissa symboleisaan Viro, Suomi ja Latvia. Sillä on kuitenkin ollut myös tällä alueella aikaisenpakin käyttöä ja merkitystä.

I imagined myself to the passenger seat at the back of the Cestna you where flying. I would like to give some customer feedback about these pilots. The first young and older male pilots had very rough handling of the aircraft making us uncomfortable in the back. But the female pilot had much more gentle and skilful touch giving us a smooth ride. Please give those boys more training before they continue their pilot careers. 😉
